I'll be starting BUS 200 on Monday. I've been advised I should pick a topic for my assignments that is straightforward to write on, prepare spreadsheets on, and presentations about. Since I've never had a 'real job' I have no business experience to draw upon. I would appreciate suggestions from anyone who has taken this course. Thank you.

I'm doing it right now and the only issue I have is that the instructions are absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea what is required because of the instructions. I'm guessing I need to create a brochure which is easy enough as I am exceptionally tech savvy (build my own sites, build pc's, program in 2 languages etc).
I think the easiest thing for you to do is to watch Youtube videos. There are a lot that will walk you through step by step. The assignments are simple to do if the instructions were up to par.

Yup, just think of something to do for your milestone assignment, it's essentially using MS Word, Excel, etc and then a final assignment/assessment with them all combined...

I'm not sure which part is confusing to you. I would recommend you read the final assignment and then go back and look at each milestone to see what you should do

I'm not sure which part is confusing to you. I would recommend you read the final assignment and then go back and look at each milestone to see what you should do The instructions themselves are poorly worded, confusing and are even written with poor grammar and spelling. The tab for references is even spelled "Refrences". The layout is weird and the final instructions are also written in a slapdash manner.
As I said, the class is extremely simple, the instructions are confusing. I have submitted all the milestones and waiting for feedback.

BUS 200 is the only class I got lower than an A on.
I got an A Minus.
I copy and pasted all the requirements, and as I met them, I highlighted that specific requirement. Everything that was optional or said "Some of these are required to receive a 4", I did all of them.
Still ended up with an A Minus.

I remember BUS 200 being the easiest course I took at UMPI. It was also the longest due to the instructor using 3 days to grade each individual milestone/draft. Every other professor I've had always returned assignments within 24 hours...BUS 200 took 9 days while BUS 415 and BUS 401 combined took 7 days.
For my project topic, I did researching my planned career, Aviation Pilot. For my brochure, I just used one of the default brochure templates available in Word. I just did a simple career introduction and the basic requirements for a pilot.
For the excel spreadsheet, I was required to include two graphs. I decided to approach this by asking two questions: Q1 How much will the total cost for flight school (CFI rating) be? Q2 Which plane would I be using the most if I wanted to go as cheap as possible? Based on those questions, I gathered data, which included finding the flight training hour requirements set by the FAA, associated cost for the written and practical exams, and contacting local flight schools for hourly plane rental and instructor costs. With that data, I crunched the numbers while utilizing the required formulas in the final instruction and created charts. I also used Vlookups and pivot tables, but I use it for work so it's just easier for me.
For the PowerPoint, I had to record a voiceover for my slides. I did a overview of the career and went in-depth into the costs and requirements. I created a separate word document for my script, record it on my phone slide by slide, and then upload it to the PowerPoint. I incorporated the charts from the excel spreadsheet. Do not read off the PowerPoint and try to follow the 5/5/5 rule (Max of 5 words per line, 5 lines of text, 5 minutes per slide).
For the Bibliography, just use a citation generator?
Make sure you include all the requirements in the Final Assignment instructions including font/formatting. I don't remember if they still provide a grading rubric but if they do, follow that as well.
