Study.com final proctored exam
#1
Thumbs Up
Hello everyone:

I am new to study.com and wondering how is their final exam, is it pretty easy? will a lot of questions come from quiz or practice exam? Right now, I am learning International Business, will anyone provide suggestions to me to pass the exam? Thanks!

Like most Study.com courses the final exam is about 80-90% based on the quizzes & chapter exams, with 10-20% being additional material taken from the course material. They sometimes flip the questions around as well to ask what is NOT the correct answer, where the quiz asked which was correct.

I usually advise people to take two practice final exams before the final. Use the results of the first practice exam to help you figure out what to study and after you finish studying, take the second practice exam to make sure you're ready. If you're still having trouble, study what you missed and take another final exam. You can take the practice final exam like three or four times if needs be. Additionally, most classes offer flashcards to help you review as well. For some courses, that is highly recommended. Like most things, the more time put into studying the better your final result will be.

I completed the Study.com International Business course in March and found it to be a bit challenging. I ended up spending a few days longer studying than I originally planned since I didn't feel completely comfortable going into the final. It would have gone faster had I taken macroeconomics or international finance previously. Several chapters in the course are dedicated to concepts covered in those subject areas, so if you've already done them, you'll have a leg up on this course and final exam. I reviewed both the practice exams and the flashcards.

I have completed 20 Study.com courses and never made worse than a B on the final, I don't think. If you actually read the material in the quizzes you will do fine on it

I second that you should take the practice exam before you take the final. If you miss 10 questions (for instance) on the practice exam, review those 10 because 2 or so will probably be on your real final. Its an easy way to make sure you get a few points higher than you normally would

Have you ever found a discprency in the practice final exam versus the proctored final exam?  For example, I completed the MAT 97 practice final exam and scored a 87.  I took the proctored final exam and BARELY passed by one question.   That happened with another class as well.

Any tips/suggestions?

I wonder if it's different for different courses. I've only done a couple of them at study.com, but for both of them I found the final exam to be much easier than the practice exams.

yes, i think the final questions are sort of randomly assigned from a pool so sometimes you will get a wonky test that's out in left field but if you know the material you should pass even if 10% of it is stuff you don't know. Your best bet is to just score as high as you can on the quizzes, take the practice test, study that, and then take the final when you're well rested etc. You should be good to go if you do all that

I have found some courses, especially newer ones that were just added, where there's a question that has more than 1 possible right answer or where its asking you about a diagram that's left out of the question somehow, but if you're ready to take the test then 1 or 2 of those shouldn't be enough to flunk you.

Also, just btw, in my experience if one of your options is "all the answers are correct", with Study.com something like 80% of the time that's the right answer. So if you just have absolutely no idea and that's one of your choices, go with that.

Make sure that on the quizzes you are at 100% so this means you only have to get like a 60% on the final to pass.

I feel like the finals were just as easy as the quiz if not slightly easier for some courses.
