I applied for this scholarship the day before yesterday and received my acceptance email in less than one hour! Was so surprised as I didn't expect it any sooner than next week if I got it. I am 70% through it already but expect to finish up between tonight and tomorrow.
I have a question on the proctoring. Can I use my laptop which has a built in camera and use a desktop microphone or should I get a webcam with a built in microphone? Also do all the quizzes count toward your grade?

Also do all the quizzes count toward your grade? I literally just finished this final this evening. I was able to use my laptop with built-in camera/mic. Their software will test your mic, then take your photo (and a photo of your ID). The only tricky part was scanning the desk/room/under the desk...I had to unplug the laptop and spin/lift/twist it around to capture the entire room/desk surface. It records the room scan video and allows you to review that before submitting it, so you can rerecord it if need be. Their interface handles all of it; you won't need to use any other apps on your system.
The quizzes do count toward your grade. If you have 100% on the quizzes, you'll only need 55% on the final. My final was 100 questions with a time limit of 120 minutes. (The chapter "practice tests" do not count toward the grade. You don't have to do the practice final prior to attempting the actual final. Also, in section 11, you do not need to go through all the flashcards prior to accessing the final exam.)
Good luck!

Either a desktop mic or built-in mic is fine. I would avoid using a headset however. I did once and they made me take it off once the test started...which meant that I couldn't hear the proctor during the test.

I never actually spoke to a proctor during my testing tonight - the only sign anyone was monitoring was the webcam LED stayed lit until I closed their app after the test was uploaded. (The silence was eerie, actually made it a little bit harder to concentrate - I'm used to a loud house while I study!)

At study.com? They use a recording system not a live proctor like SL if I am not mistaken.

For anyone using gmail, make sure to enter study.com in the search box. I sent in questions for support and was annoyed that I didn't get any answer for more than 2 weeks. Turns out my gmail filtered out study.com by itself. What is even more confusing is that it wasn't even spam folder. So yeah, make sure to double check because google might filtered them out.

I just got my scholarship!! Yay! Such great timing, too. My kids are going to be off on a three-day weekend with their dad. I *was* going to knocking out some Aleks classes, but I'll be doing the Fin102 classes instead.
Dumb question. I just want to clarify. The FIN102 class counts as one of our tests for this month?

Yes it counts as one of the monthly tests so you can do one more test in this month of your membership. Congrats on scholarship!
