Is it worth it to sign up to study.com for only 1 course?
#1
I currently attend UMPI and decided to do a double minor with a minor in project management because I would only need to take 1 extra class, BUS 240. I saw that by taking study.com's Business 304: Leading Organizational Change I could transfer it in to umpi between terms to save time and boost my chances of finishing all my classes in the spring 1 term. The only issue is I've never used study.com (I've only ever used sophia and coursera) and the live proctoring sounds cumbersome. So what do you all think? Should I sign up to study.com just to do this one course or should I just do it at umpi? Or are there other alternatives I am unaware of?

In general, I don't think it's worth just for one class since you are already enrolled at UMPI.

For a better answer:
What is your degree?
How many courses did you transfer into UMPI when you started? How many of them were applied to your degree?
What courses did you already complete at UMPI? What courses do you have remaining to graduate?

I'm doing the BAS with a minor in Information Systems and Project Management.

I transferred in
TEEX: 101, 201, 301
Google: (through coursera) Data Analytics, UX Design, IT
Sophia: US History, Art History, Visual Com, Intro to IT, Sociology, Project Management, College Readiness, Ancient Greek Philosophers, Intro to web development, Intro to python, Env science, US Government
AP Exams: Spanish, Biology, Calculus, Physics.

At UMPI I have completed:
Eng 101
Eng 121
Bus 200
Bus 244
Bus 335
Bus 345

I would still need to do
Bus 240

Bus 343
Bus 400
Bus 440
Bus 469
Elective 300 or 400

Of the remaining classes the only one I can transfer in is Bus 240.

Thanks for the response!

My friend, who didn't have a lot of work experience at the time, had to do more in-dept research on multiple companies and absolutely found the course to be boring. BUS 240 was very easy for me since some of the companies I worked for went through major restructuring and (messy) mergers, so I had plenty of first hand examples I could use for the final paper.

Since you completed 6 courses in your first session, you probably wont have trouble completing the rest of your courses in the next session. We both found BUS 240 to be short: it took my friend 5 days to submit a draft and 2 days for me. BUS 400 and 469 are also short. I recommend taking BUS 401 as the elective since it's an extension to BUS 400 and can be completed even quicker. BUS 343 took a couple days longer than BUS 240 for my friend to complete and we both have no clue about BUS 440 since we transferred that in via the old IBM Data Science Professional Cert.

Basically, I would like to think that way as well, if you can complete the remaining classes at UMPI, that would be your best option. Re-evaluate your number of classes remaining and the time you can finish them. Is your first session over already with those 6 classes, do you have time to do one more before session ends?

I still have about a week left so I opted to just bite the bullet and do BUS 240 in UMPI, even though I don't need it to graduate doing it would add a minor into Project Management with all the other classes I am already doing. That way for the next term I only need to do 5 classes:

Bus 440
Bus 469
Bus 343
Bus 400
300/400 Level Elective

Great stuff, if you can get that done quickly, you'll have 5 classes for the next session...
