Study Guide Info
#1
Hello,

I just wanted to share some of the study resources I've found to be helpful, in hopes that they can help some of you.

1. Instantcert, of course Smile. This has been a wonderful study help! Just make sure that you check the Exam Specific Feedback because you need to supplement some of the tests with other sources and information.

2. Free Clep Prep (Free Clep Prep.com). This has helpful links, tips, and study resources for each test (CLEP and DSST). (There's even a discount code.) The site maker has given a summary of each test and some of his own opinions about the test. He has also ranked each test on their difficulty level. And also he gives his opinion on whether the REA books are good for preparing for specific tests. Definitely worth checking out.

3. Dome CLEP (About Clep | DOME Exam Prep - CLEP). This is another site that I happened to run across. I don't know how accurate they are in helping you prepare. But I discovered you can take a short practice test without signing up for their site. So it might just be another thing to practice on.

4. The Princeton Review has a CLEP preparation book for the five general exams. I haven't used it yet, but they have a wonderful book for ACT preparation. Just an FYI Smile.

5. Last, but definitely not least, is the College Board's CLEP Official Study Guide. They have a practice test for each CLEP test, not full length, but it gives you a good idea what the tests will be like. I take the practice test after I've done all my studying, right before I take the real test. That way it helps to solidify the information I've learned and helps me to know if I need to study more. In addition, so far at least, it's been a pretty good indication of how I'll do on the actual CLEP test. So far when I've taken the practice test, I've only gotten about 70% - 80% on it, but I've passed the actual CLEP test just fine. You can get the book from College Board's website (College Admissions - SAT - University & College Search Tool), or you can probably order it from Amazon. In addition to the test, the book gives more information on CLEP tests and tips on taking them. Unless you're only planning on taking a couple of CLEP tests, it might be better to just order the whole book. Also on College Board's website are a few practice questions to go through. Just something else to practice on. But I highly recommend this book!

Just wanted to share what I've found. Enjoy your CLEP adventure!

The single best study guide I've found is the specific feedback forum. It tells me which study guides are worth buying/reading and which ones aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Smile

The CollegeBoard official guide is spot-on for the tests I've taken. The strategy you outlined using it is an excellent one.
