That on top of the 3 classes I'm currently taking at NMJC. Oh well everything usually works out, and this will too.

Is this the School you're going to that requires the final exam to be proctored or Straighterline? If it's StraighterLine, this is wrong because they clearly stated they would honor their past and current students on this issue. If it's your school, then I guess there's not much to do. Let us know which one it is!
Hope it works out for you.

Burt, that's totally against everything SL has been pushing here and on FB. The deal was supposed to be proctored exams required for courses purchased on or after Nov. 1st, 2012. That's also the way it reads on the website, and it was confirmed in a post by SL somewhere above. Any chance you talked to someone there who was just quoting the 'new' requirements?

Right, Burt, it doesn't add up.... Straighterline clearly said courses purchased on or after Nov. 1st, 2012 ... Hmm

An Attorney General complaint has been filed against Straighterline.
Straighterline committed fraud. If you are not happy with straighterline, you can always contact the BBB along with everybody else that straighterline defrauded out of their money. Straighterline defrauds students. Don't use them. Go with another company. You were warned.

Before jumping to conclusions, it may be best to wait till all the facts come out. It's possible that this person's school requires the proctoring not StraighterLine. I didn't say this is the case, just possible, as we the poster didn't state the school they're attending or wish the courses to be transferred.
There's also the possibility that Pjbarney spoke of, having talked to someone there who was just quoting the 'new' requirements.
So I'm just saying, let's not be so trigger happy. Let the info come out. Then we can start shooting away, but we will be shooting at something we're sure of.

We are only requiring proctoring for final exams for any course purchased on or after Nov. 1st. If anyone has any concerns about proctoring or how it impacts them and their concerns have not been resolved please reach out to our student advisors at 877-787-8375 Toll Free.

Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply, but its been a busy week. After reading my original post I felt I need to clarify and give an update. I should have made clear that, it is the school that required the proctored finals. Also I think SL overlooked the fact that a couple of the classes were taken before the school began requiring proctored exams. They emailed be to inform me that these could be transferred "as is". With the others, they will reset the finals and allow me to take them with a proctor, of course I must pay for the proctor. If I wish, I can pay for a one month subscription ($99), and they will open the courses completely and allow me to study the material and previous test. Not really a bad deal, and probably what I'm going to do.
I want to make it clear that I dont feel I was mislead in any way. I also believe that straighterline can still be a value in some situations. Sorry for the confusion. I do think in the long run, the proctored exams will add credibility to straighterline, but at the cost of value. Hope this clears things up.

From SL website today: "Proctoring is available to all students via StraighterLine proctoring services, which we partner with ProctorU to deliver. This optional resource is available for those students sending transcripts to colleges that require exam proctoring. Unless otherwise requested by your institution, it is not required. For more information please refer to the StraighterLine Proctoring page or your Partner College page." (
College student handbook for online courses and credit transfer - StraighterLine )
I know this topic began before 11-1-2012 and the last post before this one is 11-17-2012. Maybe SL has modified their proctor requirement yet again!
So my question is, to date, does TESC NOT require SL finals to be proctored when accepted in transfer?
