Its what I did. I dont know if Straighterline charges you additional for doing it with the lab from the get go. I didnt want to talk about a way I dont know about. No reason in perticular. Hope that answers your question.

Rugbyman,
When you say Bio took 7 days was that for the whole class plus lab or just the lab portion? How long did the intro to biology course itself take?

The 7 days was for the lab portion only, which consisted of like 9 sections each having 10 question tests along with a few experiments. Very easy. The main portion of Intro Biology also took me about 7-8 hours. Im pretty good with Biology though. Terrible in History.

I can help to an extent by telling you to order the e-textbooks for the courses you are interested in. chegg.com I have noticed has most of them. If you have any problems trying to navigate Straighterline, signing up, or making a plan for yourself I would love to help.

I am an AMU student. I called admissions to get clarity on whether or not Biology would be covered for this calendar year. I was told that I couldn't test out on it because of the lab, they never told me about this "straighterline". Now I am really curious about it. Does tuition assistance cover it? I am surprised that AMU accepted it. So I'm assuming that its regionally accredited. They mentioned a $39 registration fee. So that was waived too?

I dont think your tuition assistance covers this. I also goto AMU. I asked about the Science with lab from Straighterline and they said they will take it. Im waiting for my TCE update to go through to see if they take it for sure or not. Its $99 to enroll and $39 to take the class through Straighterline. They dont tell you about Straighterline because they lose money for you not taking their classes. It took me about a month to finally get a straight answer from them about accepting Straighterline courses. Here is a link to a post I was updating about Straighterline and AMU. You might want to read it.

RugbyMan187 Wrote:For DSST Techincal Writing I went to the exam specific in the forums and just studies what other people posted. Studied maybe 7 hours tops then took the test. It pretty much goes over what you may have already learned in school. Pretty easy course. As for Econ 1&2, I try to get the e-textbooks for all the Straighterline courses. Its easier to search and find the info, also cheaper than buying the book. But seriously, just look at the exam specific portion for any clep or dsst and most of the time people will post their study notes. I did the same for Here's to your Health. Hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions. I need help with straighterline lab. can you send me info? |
