Agreed,
It took me 3.5 hours to take that test and I was shaking when I left. I studied hard for 3 weeks. Definitely not a test option for the casual learner. A lot of people really dislike this book, but I thought Statistics Without Tears by Derek Rowntree was a great help.

Now, on to World Religion . . .

It took me 3.5 hours as well....almost to the minute. There were several moments where I thought I might just burst into tears. It's a horrible feeling when you hit a question that you have absolutely no clue how to solve.

Thankfully, there were plenty of questions that I could answer without much difficulty. So I am still hoping for a pass. I don't want to have to go through this again in six months.

If I end up passing it, I will have passed through sheer blood, sweat, and tears!

You probably did fine. I felt very confident afterwards and got a 75 and everyone that said that they felt like they bombed got a 55 or better. It took nearly 4 hours to complete and the tester said she was going to bring a cot in for me! She didn't mind though and I had no room for failure nor 6 months to retest.

Hi All,

I just got my score back for DANTES Principles of Statistics, I got a 71.

What a relief!

Here's the time frame starting from the day I took the exam until today.

I took the exam on 4/17/06.
They charged my credit card on 4/26/06 (9-days)
They mailed my score on 4/28/06 (11-days)
I received my score on 5/02/06 (15-days)

That's the fastest turnaround so far. The average has been 16 days, the longest was 22 days.

the ti-30xa mentioned above does not do two variable equations (regression). The ti-36x or ti-36x II does slope, y-intercept, two variable and correlation. It is not a programmable calculator and costs only $16 dollars. Unless i am missing something, having not taken the test yet, i would want the regression features on a test calculator. let me know if i am correct.

You definitely need the two-variable functionality for the Statistics exam.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would swear by the TI BAII+. It is a statistical AND financial calculator in one. It has almost every function you will need. It was invaluable to me on both Principles of Statistics, and Principles of Finance.

I paid $30 for it on Amazon.com. Knowing what I know now, I would gladly have paid $100 for it.

i used the TI-30X II S. it had everything i needed and was VERY simple to use.

i bought the ti-30xa and it didn't do it all. good to know the ti-30xII s is sufficient. I would buy the BAII if i needed it for finance. I only had to take principle of accounting (rather than principles of finance), so i didn't need the financial tools. thanks.

My biggest word of advice: don't waste your time on Z-score calculations. My brother and I spent countless hours on that and were gurus at it only to discover there was hardly ANYTHING on the test asking for it - Instacert needs to amend their cards. I passed but this was a really hard test. I studied like one or two weeks using these two videos and Instacert. But just remember, YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO STUDY THIS AGAIN IF YOU PASS!!! That's what keeps me going. You can do it!
