Statistics DANTES Test

I am taking the Statistics test next Saturday, and I have read several posts from the past few months indicating how hard it is, and a debate about what calculator you can use.

I just talked to the testing center where I am taking the test, and was told you can bring in a calculator for the on-line test (one does not pop up like it does on some CLEP exams). However, the calculator can only add, subtract, multiply, divide, do percentages, and square roots. Any calculators with factory options for standard deviaition, permutations, mean, median, etc. are not allowed. That is BAD news, but I would rather find out now than the day of the test.

I am not optimistic about passing, but I will keep on studying until the last minute. Wish me luck!

PS--I have successfully tested out of the following CLEP/DANTEST tests, so I'm no stranger to these tests, but I deeply fear the Stats test.

Good luck! This calculator issue is inexcusable. There is no reason that DANTES cannot publish one clear standard that all can adhere to--students and testing centers alike. I'm just getting back into Statistics and am similarly apprehensive. This will be the first test where I take only one test on testing day. On the other hand--whatever happens--happens. If I don't pass--I'll have to do it on-line somewhere. Hopefully, the "mother of all curves" you've read about on these forums will see us through.

I just took the test this morning at 9am and passed with a 64. The IC flash cards were a great help and covered about 60% of the test. the Annenberg video series on statistics covered the other 40% and that was all I used. The calculator was not an issue they didn't even check it as I used it during the exam. Good Luck on your exam.

I've been using InstantCert, the textboook "Understandable Statistics," Idiots Guide to Statistics, and I bought the Principles of Statistics study guide from "Pass Your Class" on-line. I've never heard of the Annenberg videos -- where did you get them? That might be my best bet.

This will be my very last test, so I hope I pass
