Speed bump in my road map...

So, since I've been so focused on testing out and pushing through for my degee ASAP, I managed to overlook a teeny-tiny little problem in my plan. I only had 18 residency credits planned out banghead, and that's INCLUDING the CS Undergrad Cert. So, now I'm trying to decide if I should:

A: Swap a couple CLEP/DSST/CSU-G CBE's for TESC classes
B: Knock out random easy TECEP's to fill out residency
C: Knock out TECEP's/classes to fill out a second area of study (History, capstone & 3 electives away...)

Classes/TECEP's would be about the same out-of-pocket, classes would likely end up making me money at the end of the day with my GI Bill, but I'm trying to save as much of it as possible for pursuing my planned master's degree(s).

What's the degree in?

If I could redo my approach to TESC I would have focused on easier TECEPs to knock out the residency early, and then use CLEPs/DSSTs for the rest (BSBA - General Management). Personally not a big fan of the amount of writing and forum discussions for TESC's classes, although my instructors have been good at least. That said, the differences in the amount of work involved between the Strategic Management class vs TECEP makes me happy that I tested out of it.

I suggest taking easy TECEP's but if you are planning on pursuing a secondary course of study it would make sense to do that as well. I thought about that myself, but I think I am going to settle for going to graduate school. I will most likely start with a graduate certificate then move on to the masters. I think a graduate certificate would look better than a secondary bachelors, but it would be your choice. I understand your concern in regards to the GI Bill since I am utilizing it as well; hence, I would just focus on knocking out the bachelors then taking on graduate school. I think Liberty University offers a discount to veterans, I believe it is just $250 a credit hour. I realize their are cheaper grad schools (I am looking into), but Liberty has a vast selection of certificates and degrees. Either way don't think too much into this and knock out one thing at a time. Good Luck

There may be cheaper ones, but not many, and not often with that selection they have. Not sure how an MSIT would be for me, I'll have to look into it

Depending on how much room you have remaining in your current degree plan, B is the best option, followed distantly by A. I say B as depending on which classes you have in mind, the course may be easy enough, and/or have relatively inexpensive study materials (I paid less than $120 total for the Strategic Management TECEP, with the book + shipping coming out to 8 dollars). Don't forget that this forum also has study materials to assist you with, along with the feedback we've all posted for TECEP in the past.

What would also help here would be for you to post your current academic evaluation from OSS (remove your personal info), so we can see what classes you still have remaining. that should give you an idea of which TECEPs can fill which requirements, as well as alternative sources of credits.

Operating Systems - CC/VC class

The majority of my GenEd & all my free electives were filled with CCAF credts, but I can kick them down the list with anything I take for residency.
