Southeastern Oklahoma State University Online?

I did my MBA at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

It was a pretty decent program and the professors were very quick to respond to questions. I cannot speak to the M.Ed program but the MBA was pretty much self taught utilizing the course materials professors provide. There are no recorded lectures, live lectures, etc.

In the end, it accomplished for me what I wanted it to accomplish. I'd highly recommend the programs through SOSU.

In the MBA program, you could take 1 to 2 courses per 7-week term. The courses consisted of discussion boards, papers, quizzes, and exams. The discussion boards were your typical "write a 300-500 word response to this specific topic and then reply to at least 3 posts to further discussion."

The exams were all open note/open book. Overalls, all the of the material and requirements were pretty easy.

That teaching model is somewhat common with institutions that have just NA or RA without the secondary or programmatic accreditation. If you know the material and self study, this option would be viable, although a bit slow - it will take at least the full two years I would guess.

The main draw to their program isn't just the price alone, but the ease (relatively speaking) and the AACSB accreditation. One question is, the proctored exams, are they proctored? If so, what provider or software do they use? Some schools allow you to select your own proctor.

Of the (12) courses that I had, I believe I only had (2) courses that were proctored exams. The rest of the courses were timed exams. Now, this may have changed since I finished the program nearly 3 years ago.

Most papers were 3-5 page papers. However, this was the MBA program so the M.Ed may be different.

I recently completed the M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in May 2022.  I had a pleasant experience and can't think of anything negative to say about the university or the program.  I enjoyed the school so much that I traveled 8 hours to attend the graduation and felt right at home.

The course work was rigorous and focused heavily on writing. Out of the ten courses, only two required testing which only counted a small percentage of the overall grade.  The instructors are experts in their field and always focused on the needs of their students. If I had to do it over I would most definitely choose Southeastern Oklahoma State University again due to my positive experience. I hope this helps.
