I took Business Math, but got a D. I was wondering if Sophia's Calc class is equal to Business Math as Business Math is equivalent to Calculus I. I asked Jessica, but didn't get a clear answer.

I really doubt it. Business Math is math for business. Calculus is calculus. They're not the same thing.

I was not able to find anything that would transfer for MAT 140 at UMPI from Study, Sophia or IC. The course is OK i you are a math person, but what they consider Business Math is questionable at best... Being a partner in a multi location retail store and having worked with multiple Fortune 200 companies - I can say I haven't never needed Geometry or Linear models built on my own... the ERP or BI software was always the route used so as to not confuse staff or imply adjustment of numbers or outcomes from a standard.
I am not looking forward to the MTH140 exam

According to UMPI's database Study.com BUSINESS 110 Business Math transfers in as MAT 140 and fulfill GEC 3A, 3B.

The MAT 140 exam is not that bad. As long as you go through the quizzes multiple times and make sure you can answer the questions there you should be fine. The study.com class actually looked a lot harder, with a ton of finance and accounting formulas to memorize. The most complicated formula that the UMPI class has is the quadratic equation formula.
CLEP - 7 Courses, Study.com - 11 Courses, Sophia - 15 Courses, CSM Learn, INSTANTCERT - Spanish I, Coursera - Google Data Analytics Certificate.

Where did you see that MAT131 is equal to MAT140? They're not the same course at all. Math for Business is much easier than Calc 1. Calc 1 on Sophia transfers to UMPI as MAT131. Sophia's course number for it is MATH1040. Could that be what you saw? UMPI has a math requirements in the GEC and Calc 1 fills both of them. BABA students usually have to complete MAT140. It's really an easy math course. Who told you that Calc will waive MAT140? Did you specifically ask about it for the BABA? I am asking because others had transferred College Algebra and still had to complete MAT140 at UMPI.
