@imnvs, Thanks for confirming and letting us know. I've mentioned a few times they use Biometrics of keyboard authentication and records the IP addresses... Basically, I've had that issue happen for the same reasons as I move around remotely often, they use Biometric Authentication and IP location for this and I've run across a couple of times or more this issue. Easy fix for support their team and it's not really a hassle, things happen for a reason when the system detects something out of the ordinary... I still like their system the most as the dashboard and learning medium used is clean, clear, and easy to read.

Ouch! That sucks. I guess they found the ID verification more useful than not.

Afterward when I went to submit my coursework it wouldn't allow me to, ended up with a notification that said, "there was a problem with your ID verification, please call or email...etc." I called customer support, the guy Matt, told me this is a new type of verification they've rolled out. It's only been implemented on the Conflict Management course, no idea why? Maybe a trial run. He fixed it for me, my coursework was submitted no problem! He also mention they've had problems with this type of verification and may end up dropping it in the future.
Got this error just now:

I may be mis-remembering, but I think back in 2016, I had to show ID to take a Sophia course. Again, it's been a long time so I can't remember exactly where in the process they asked for it, but I think this is the case.

With how often and promient cheating is with Sophia, I would not be surprised if ID verification or webcam face scans become more common.

They told me it's most likely because of too many IP changes (work, home, cafe, etc.) in a short span of time. Fyi - I had their support team reset my keyboard authentication yesterday due to too many failed attempts (weird). This is probably what trigged this.
The typing verification is pretty accurate. If you change keyboards, that could throw the system off if you type differently from keyboard to keyboard which some people do such as going from a laptop keyboard to a desktop keyboard.

What evidence of this can you share? Just look on Reddit at r/SophiaLearning. Every other post is on offering 'help' on any course.

Hopefully most people are not accepting this “help”. I have seen people try to offer help (for a fee) on a few Facebook Groups, but usually someone comes along to advise everyone that they don’t need “help” as all of the materials and tutoring are available directly on sophia.

That's what I was thinking as well, as long as that 'help' isn't someone doing the work for you and just providing some tutoring of concepts that students have problems grasping... That's perfectly fine, Sophia.org (uses the honor system) and all the providers (IIRC), have a clause mentioning no extra outside help for quizzes, exams, or anything else. That means, they can help you by tutoring you on concepts, but they can't be helping you during quiz/exams or do the assignments. For those who need assignment help, it's best to do all the work yourself and use these online tools such as Grammarly to correct grammatical or typing mistakes. If you need someone to tutor or help you with assignments, they can correct/critique and give feedback to hep you improve your writing capabilities, and so on.
