Hey, so I have a few days left on my Sophia Account. Figured why not take 1 more class. I pretty much have 70 credits from there so far, found that principles of management touchstones aren't hard and I can knock it out pretty fast. It is just a PPT presentation. I keep seeing different things as far as how it codes when you transfer it. I see it codes with EC as an Upper-Level 3xx business even on Sophia itself it shows as a 3XX business. Some people said it transfer to EC as a LL Elective lol. So that is confusing. Also, how does it transfer at UMPI? I don't see any specs except for 1 person saying it didn't transfer and another person saying it transferred as an Elective. Does anyone have any idea about these things? I think I will take it regardless just because it will give me a credit and something to do on Sophia before it runs out on the 15th lol.

According to the transfer database, Principles of Management has previously transferred in as BUS101 Introduction to Business. If you take it with Sophia's Introduction to Business, you get BUS101 + BUS1XX elective.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

It all depends where or who you're wanting to "finish" the degree with. It seems you're still stuck at the phase of deciding because you're wanting to be able to transfer the max credits... I wouldn't dwell on that, you should decide on the one that you can finish easier/faster. Just wondering, did you get your evaluations completed by Excelsior and UMPI already?

Here is what the transfer database currently shows. Keep in mind that this is how Principles of Management previously transferred in. This is subject to change. This course has changed a few times already in how it is transferred into UMPI.
BUSI 1013 Principles of Management transfers as BUS 101 Introduction to Business
If you take:
BUS 1001 Introduction to Business with BUSI 1013 Principles of Management
It will transfer to:
BUS 1XX Business Elective and BUS 101 Introduction to Business
I wouldn't focus on capitalizing the most transfer credits. I would focus on which program you can finish the fastest and which is easiest - UMPI or EC. There are several people on here who have completed their 30 credits at UMPI in 1 session. Most are taking 2-3 so 16-24 weeks. 16 weeks is one semester at EC. Just something to think about.

So Excelsior is super fast. I have received 3 evaluations from them so far. I thought I was going to be at 83 credits but US History 2 came in as American History 1877, which they already gave me credit for at my local college. So of my 91 credits, they are taking 80 so far. If I continued with them I would take some courses at Study.com to max out the 113 credits and then take the required Cornerstone, Info Lit and Capstone with Excelsior. Right now as it sits I need 30 UL and 10 LL. 21 UL in science and arts, 9 UL in anything and 10 LL in anything. The capstone counts as an UL social, corner as a LL anything and info lit as 1 credit LL. I'm in project management on Sophia which looks like it would count as an UL business. So I'd need 18 UL Social and Arts, 7 LL anything and 6 UL anything.
With UMPI I just sent my transcripts Saturday. They haven't even approved my application yet. I was told that could be up to Monday next week. From what I am hearing here Evaluations can take 2-3 weeks after accepted. So that's almost a month from now. I just got access to the portal and I can see what classes "well most" would transfer. I'm just waiting here. But I think 81 would transfer.

Currently my classes at EC would be 8 weeks for Info Lit, Cornerstone and Capstone, based on what the schedule said if I start in Fall. They would all run August-October. I am just wanting it by December

You can totally finish an UMPI degree by December. When I was enrolled at EC I couldn't take the Cornerstone and Capstone together. I had to take the Cornerstone first and the take the Capstone the next session so it was going to take 16 weeks to complete those 2 classes. I was enrolled at EC just 2 years ago. I left EC because it was slow and they just didn't seem to have it together in my degree program. Since then I've completed 2 bachelor's degrees at UMPI. Completing a degree at UMPI in 16 weeks is 100% doable.
Yes UMPI takes longer on the administrative side. They are VERY SMALL school. Their main focus is on campus students. Many staff member work at multiple U of M campuses so they aren't full time at UMPI. UMPI is also now on summer hours. You probably won't hear back from anyone outside of YourPace on Fridays. They don't work weekends or holidays. They will get back to you. Patience is important at UMPI. I'm like the least patient person on the planet. LOL So it was a good lesson on patience for me.

@learningthehardway, Study.com would be an option, but for cheaper, easier, faster, I would suggest Davar Academy for Excelsior instead. You can take a few of their "business" courses for $99 for 2 courses and $15/exam, so it would be $129/2 courses versus $199 at Study.com...
Because you're transferring over 60+ credits, you'll be considered a senior and your cornerstone would be the IND301 Cornerstone B: Pathways course instead of the IND101 Cornerstone A: Foundations - Last but not least, 8 weeks for Info Lit/Cornerstone, 8 for Capstone - it'll also take you 16 weeks as UMPI.
Last but not least, you most likely can use your company reimbursement of max $250/credit hour rate on these more effectively. It's not "free" but you can get the bulk of the money after you get that promotion or raise in the near future. The main goal is to "finish" not to cheap out on your education. Yeah, I am technically already a student at Excelsior haha. When I sent my updated transcript it launched me into "enrolled" mode. So I can register for classes and etc. I technically have the Cornerstone and Info Lit registered for Fall 1. I tried to register for Capstone but since I don't have the classes maxed yet, I can't. lol. Never thought about Davar Academy. I have to look it up. Thanks.
