Hello all. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted here. My youngest son is working on his ASNSM Computer Science from TESU. He has taken several credits from Sophia.org, but his 4 computer credits did not. He has emailed his advisor, but we haven’t heard back yet. I was wondering if anyone else has had these courses transfer. They were Introduction to Web Development and IT Career Exploration (because he needed 1 pesky credit.). He is currently taking Critical Literacy from TESU.

Those two don't transfer, unfortunately. You can see equivalencies here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...lency_List
For free/cheap credit, try Coursera: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera

@JenninMN, how young is Duncan now? 18? He needs 16 residency credits if he's looking to skip the residency waiver fee, I would recommend taking some more courses through TESU and use a flat-fee tuition option if possible. Is he planning to ladder into a Bachelors? Last but not least, he will need to have RA credits, so take some dual enrollment courses at the local community college or ASU UL, TECEPS, etc...

Thank you both! That is exactly the information I was searching for. I guess I should have asked sooner. For further information, Duncan is 20 and was taking classes at our local CC when COVID hit. He didn’t do well with the online classes at the CC, so we switched to this plan. He does have the RA requirement covered, though. I have another question, since you have been so helpful already. He took Cybersecurity from Study.com which also doesn’t transfer. I was thinking of having him try the DSST Cybersecurity test. Do you know if TESU will accept it towards his computer credits? Study.com has several courses that will fit, but he hates their format. He loves Sophia. Go figure.

Yes, that course fits. For lower level courses, I would get him to take the CLEP for free with ModernStates.org and/or Sophia.org
Here's the link to CLEP transfer to TESU: https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/Current/...CLEP-Exams
And the link to DSST transfer to TESU: https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/en/Curre...DSST-Exams
On a side note, if he does take 16 residency credits at TESU, he just needs to pay an extra capstone course and graduation fee for the Bachelors, the rest can be transferred in using ACE/NCCRS credits from approved providers, this will be the cheapest Bachelors that he can ladder up to if he has the 16 residency credits: Approved Provider Directory
