Some questions about TESU credit transfers
#1
Hello!!

I am wondering if upper level CIS (not COS) courses count as area of study upper level courses for the CS degree?

And under the Civic and Global Leadership area, I am lacking ETH-2200. Can I just replace it with a PHI course found under the Ethical Leadership courses? Any PHI course or only one that transfers in as one of the PHI courses found under the ethical leadership courses (if I want to use a PHI course)?

If I'm missing SOC-1010, can I replace it with another SOC course that's at the 3000 level? (from another college) Or does it have to be at the 1000 level and or also specifically Introduction to Sociology?

And if my calculus transferred in as 3 credits (from Study.com),will that satisfy the 4 credit Calculus requirement for the BA CS? Should I have them update it to 4 credits?

Thanks !

Hey, TESU requires 4 credits. A 3-credit Study.com course likely won’t meet the full requirement unless supplemented. Check with advising.

Hmm that blows. I guess I'll need to spend extra money on Sophia then. Thanks for replying!

You should check with TESU; the poster’s guess may be mistaken. I have seen people meet a typically 3 semester hour course requirement at TESU with a 2.67 semester hour course (converted from a college using quarter credits).

Okay, I will try that. Thanks Jonathan. Hopefully they can save me some time and money.

EDIT, yes, the Study.com 3 credit calculus worked out fine. It counts for Calculus I for the CS degree.
