I borrowed McGraw-Hill's GED : it has an awesome review (pretty short and easy to read) of U.S and world history without getting too much into unnecessary details read the whole social studies chapter U.S government and politics, economy are included and honestly covered very well all the questions I found on the Clep test.
I also used the practice test in the Cracking the Clep the Princeton review very useful and that was pretty much it,passed it 2 month ago, got a 65 after less than 10 hrs total of studying without no history or social studies background ! you can find both books at most of the libraries or buy them used for very cheap on amazon.
good luck !

I'm planning on taking this test but I can't seem to find much info/feedback on this yet. Any more info on what's covered would be really helpful. Thanks.
