Should I challenge my Advisor at EC? My advisor is making me take a UEXCEL course.

Excelsior is a not for profit college. They do need some income to keep the doors open. CLEP and DSST English Comp aren't accepted by tons of schools and the school has that right to choose, You could take it at a Community College at $100 a credit hour and you can plot your progress rather than winging it on the Uexcel exam. You also could pay the $1500 for the English course at Excelsior. What is the big picture, you pay an enrollment fee of $1000+ and test out of everything except the capstone resulting in your out of pocket expense to the school being about $3000. That wouldn't cover a semester in most schools and it will get you your degree. You can pay Straighterline and then submit it without approval and see if they don't take it but either way you are going to be paying a testing fee or a class fee. Meanwhile you'll exit the process with a degree thousands of dollars less expensive than most schools in the nation. If you are worried about your GPA do the straighterline thing as an experiment and if it doesn't transfer you'll have prepped well for the next step
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

You are correct, I was worried because the World Conflicts since 1900 exam was completely messed up! I took the entire two hours and had no clue how I did when complete. I ended up with a A but the exam was written to induce failure. I just took the Uexcel college comp and it was the easiest test ever as long as you used the UEXCEL study guide verbatim and practice a proposal essay and a Analysis Response essay. I have now completed all my course work and I am in the 3 week of my Liberal Arts Capstone. The capstone is basically taking up about 10 hours a day and I have had to take 4 weeks vacation in order to be able to complete it.
Many Thanks for the advice!
