So several of Saylor's courses now count for credit at Brandman University. I'm curious about the whole process though... like is there a credits evaluation fee to transfer the credits to BU? Is it possible to get the credits transcripted by Brandman then transferred to TESC? What are BU's policies on this and the costs involved?
Anyone have any idea on these?

I'm sure there will be some credit requirement for Brandman to keep it on the transcript. Almost every attempt at credit laundering gets shot down by the schools.

A few years back Straighterline had a partnership with FHSU, of which I took full advantage. The only courses transferrable were Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Accounting I & II. I only had to enroll at FHSU (virtual) for the $30 application fee. The courses were then transferred to the school and it was as if they were taken at FHSU. Their transcripts were free at that time, so I had transcripts sent to TESC (as well as myself) and the business credits were officially washed as coming from a RA university.
It was an awesome gift while it lasted. It also shined a positive light on FHSU, as the school began to gain footing here on the board. I wouldn't be surprised quite a few Straighterline users became FHSU students, if only for a semester or two. My experience proved them to be extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and a well organized university.
I wonder if Brandman is offering a similar partner program with Saylor? The only way to find out is to contact the school direct and ask your questions.

I would be interested in this as well. If it can somehow be transferred to TESC this would save me a ton of trouble/money/time/etc.
Who would be best to ask in this case? TESC? Brandman? Or would I have to just take a course and try to transfer it? There are a few on the list that I'm pretty confident I could pass without preparation to find out. However, if it can be solved by just asking, I'd prefer that.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

I would contact Brandman since they will be the school that holds the credit. You could call admissions or the registrar and request full details of the partnership. Most important is to find out how the credits will transfer and ask whether there is any sort of residency, or other commitment, required by the school if/when using Saylor credits.

I already contacted Brandman and Saylor. You need to be enrolled in one of their programs to transfer credits. You won't be able to launder them because Saylor courses are treated as transfer credits and don't count toward Brandman's residency requirement. My assumption is that the Saylor credits will look just like any other transfer credits on the Brandman transcript.

Darn! I was hoping there would be a cheaper self paced format to getting some of the technical classes for TESC.

You can try SIMCA; but, since it's a foreign school, trying to launder credits through them could get complicated.

Oh dear.. Brandman won't work then. I don't think I'd want to do it via SIMCA... I'd probably have to pay for a WES evaluation.
Thank you for your feedback!
