Study.com vs Straighterline

I also STRONGLY prefer a paper book over a screen. But, the value of ctrl+F when taking an open book SL exam CANNOT be overstated!

Besides the cost aspect, what are the pros/cons of each?

I took 8 SL courses in two months, and really liked the format (with ebooks). I need to take some study.com UL Psych courses and am wondering if I'll be able to work as quickly with the study.com?

Any tips for efficiently getting through both 2 for-credit courses each month with all of those quizzes?

I haven't done either, so I'm just piping in with what little I know. I think the main things is that 1) SL uses the ebook vs Study.com uses online content and videos, and 2) SL has quizzes that count towards your grade, so you don't have to do great on the final to get a good grade in the course vs. Study.com's quizzes don't count towards your grade - it all rests on the final exam.

If you learn better by watching videos, study.com might be a better bet. If you'd rather not have all of your grade dependent on 1 test, SL is your best bet. But, from what I've seen on this forum, people really like both. I've seen more people do more courses on SL in a very short amount of time, but people give more glowing reviews of study.com.

The cautious part of me doesn't like having all of my eggs in one basket which might be partly why I liked SL's grading system, lol. And the fact that I can skim when I'm reading. But I'm hoping I will like study.com's video method too Smile

eta: Looks like there are transcripts for the videos which might be helpful for people who like to read: http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...rator.html

You have the option of reading the video transcript as well, and I alternated between watching videos and reading the text depending on where I was and how sick of one or the other I was.

Any feedback is welcome. Price, convenience, credit (more specifically to TESU), overall...

I thought I wanted to go for a Business Administration degree, but I'm not sure anymore, so for now, I want to take general education courses!

Thank you!

Penn Foster for business courses is a must if you do go for the BSBA degree.

Financial Management wasn't difficult for me, I completed in a week.

Human Resource Management was the same, completed in a week.

Strategic Management is a little more difficult, not sure I completely like my instructor all that much, but I'm getting by and hoping to complete in the next 2 weeks.

Albeit it is more expensive. The advantage is these 3 business courses aren't proctored and are relatively easy.

I have considered doing other courses with P.F., but as of right now I'm going to test out of the rest of mine with CLEP, TECEPS, and DSSTs.

Good Luck, my advice is once you have a degree plan mapped out and have decided which direction to go in, just grind it out and stay focused.
