SOPHIA TESC Partnership
#1
I did I search and didn't see this posted. If it was already mentioned, I apologize.

Sophia.org is claiming it has a partnership with TESC

https://tesc.sophia.org/

The link shows the TESC equivalents and also offers a discount code for $50 off your course.

Some of the equivanencies seem odd to me. Like I would rather take the Religions DSST for upper level credit, and also the fact that conflict resolution is considered public speaking?

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

They probably found out during their free course period that a lot of students were transferring credits to TESC.

Are these things actual partnerships, or do they just find out from TESC how these credits transfer?

I found out the courses do transfer towards credit at TESC.

I don't mean any disrespect TwoZero, but we're aware the courses transfer to TESC. What I was wondering is if there is an ACTUAL partnership, meaning signed agreement or understanding. Or are they claiming they do like some other unscrupulous companies have done. I'm pretty sure they do considering they are a legit company and aren't a fly by night operation, but some of the credit transfers seem odd.

Has anyone taken any courses from Sophia? I have taken a course from StraighterLine in the past and I didn't really like it. Should I use Sophia instead?

Ok thanks for the info AngelaP. I signed up for a free trial and really liked the look/feel of the course seems very up to date and contemporary. I just started College Algebra (not my strong suit) but this might be a good way for me to get this one out of the way. Its 4 credits at TESC. It looks like this must be a new partnership or something there is a promo code for $50 off on the TESC Sophia page with the code being NEW50.

The TESC link no longer works. Just goes to a blank page.
