I took my first DSST exam which was paper-and-pencil based a couple of weeks ago and there was a problem with the booklet.
It was Civil War and I knew from this site that there would probably be 112 questions. Then the first page inside the booklet also said there were 112 questions. When I flipped to the back of the booklet, there were only 108 questions and the page said to âcontinue on to the next pageâ, but there was not another page in the booklet.
Since I had studied well, this problem did not rattle me during the test.
My proctor called them the next day and found out that they would not grade a test with the 4 answers missing. They sent her the questions and I went in again to answer them the next week. I received my score 2 weeks later.
While this wasnât a BIG problem, having to go back was definitely a nuisance.
I just wanted to post this so others could think through what they might need to do if this happens to them. I know that some of you just study long enough to pass and others have a really long drive to the test center. A problem like this could affect you more than it did me.
I hope this doesnât happen to anyone else, but do check your booklet before you start your test to be sure that you have all of the questions in it.
