I took the Ece exam and it was very easy!!!
You will need to learn such things as Emily Bogardus' social scale , learn surpising facts about how late Native Americans finally won their citizenship, and that black codes put freed African Americans back in near slavery after much blood was shed during the Civil War,etc. Also learn that Spanish speaking immigrants weren't the only ones that caused people to have second thoughts about the future of the English language. Many Americans of German descent during WWI had their language banned in many communties and prohibition had anti-immigrant sentiment behind it.
if you plan to take this there is are free notes available for this exam in the study guide exchange section.
I've heard and read of people complaining about having to learn about Cultural Diversity. Despite some of it being uncomfortable it is important to know why, despite a "black" man such as Obama being the Democratic nominee there is still so much racial tension.
I find learning about why certain ethnic groups are where they are right now economically, socially ,etc have their roots in history that may have been left out of what we were taught in school.
The only reason I can see that people are afraid to touch Cultural Diversity is because it will force us to learn some hard truths about not just this country but about ourselves.
The Cultural Diversity exam is very passable!
