Greetings DegreeForum!
I'm about to hopefully embark on my first of many exams towards my BSBA Degree! I am looking to finish a few Davar Academy courses before the $99 deal expires, and wanted to ask about the relative cleanliness/emptiness of the room required to avoid any issues.
I live in a relatively small place by myself, with no quiet areas (including libraries) nearby where I might be able to take my test. My wall behind me have food menus on them, and my table has tissues, pencil holder tray, USBs, various knick-knacks relating to technology, and so forth. If I remove all items that would otherwise be considered suspicious, but still relatively cluttered, would that be acceptable?
If anyone has experiences with this, please let me know

Yes, clutter is fine.
They would probably consider anything with writing on it to be suspicious.
You have to remove or cover phones or mirrors.
Some of us keep our eyes on the monitor, so there is less chance of them thinking we're looking at something.

If it really bothers you, get a couple of these hooks. Use cheapo wal mart shower curtains, bed linens or even regular drapes to create a screen.

Hang plants from them while not in use, no one will be the wiser.

no worries my living room (was) cluttered with tons of stuff that we were ebaying and the whole room was a mess. I just made sure my small area where the computer was, was clear of anything with writing on it. I have had zero issues with RPNow however ProctorU is starting to become a problem for me. I am still awaiting test results that when they come in I am done with ProctorU.

Because of your room?

Just make sure you have nothing with writing on it - even my scratch piece of paper that was allowed for the test and had my test code on it, I held it up and showed them both sides of the paper so they could see I didn't have additional writing on it. I also kept my eyes glued to the screen so they would know I wasn't looking around at something else, getting answers. I tried to make the room as clutter free as I could and I just made sure I didn't rush through the scan so they could see everything - the floor, the walls, the desk area etc. I never had a problem and I took my tests in several different rooms.

I think this is key. Don't wander with your eyes! Don't give them any reason to suspect cheating and you'll be fine.

I take all my tests in the kitchen as the kitchen table is the only table that doesn't have anything on it... my bedroom is a mess!

That is the key, even with an empty table, ProctorU makes me do a 360, under the table and a view of the table top, as well as the laptop screen...

I have used both.
I went overboard the first time. I made the room like there was an uncleared person in the building; hung drapes and covered stuff.
Last time, I just flipped the phone over, and took a quick look to make sure nothing with writing was in my field of view.
I don't know what either's standards are, and I don't want to test it.
I will say I'd worry less about PU than RP. With PU, you're connected to someone live, who will tell you to fix it. RP is a crap shoot.

I just make sure I don't take my eyes off my screen. Look straight ahead. My room where I do my study is crowded another computer in the office that my fiance uses for his office, printer, dresser, papers its a mess but I make sure my desktop is cleared and around me is clear as well. Plus I crank thru the study tests in no time.
