I just took my first practice test from the REA human growth and development book. Honestly, some of these questions I had NO CLUE on!
I've plowed through the IC flash cards multiple times, and read through the lengthy review in my REA prep book. I still need to review my test results and take another practice test or 2.
I've got just a few questions:
1.) I've heard that the REA practice tests are more difficult than the actual CLEP, can anyone confirm this?
2.) which study resource, IC or the REA book, are more indicative of the questions on the actual test?
3.) What would I need to score on the REA test to be confident that I would get at least a 50 on the actual CLEP?
Thanks for the help, I need it!!!

I've got just a few questions:
1.) I've heard that the REA practice tests are more difficult than the actual CLEP, can anyone confirm this? Mostly.
2.) Which study resource, IC or the REA book, are more indicative of the questions on the actual test? IC questions are literal flashcards geared to help to memorize key phrases, names, concepts, and such. Both REA and Petersons are more like actual exam questions....but usually a wee bit tougher.
3.) What would I need to score on the REA test to be confident that I would get at least a 50 on the actual CLEP? 55-60.

Question for you.....?
Have you already taken: Sociology, Psychology, and Educational Psychology yet? I only ask as most students take HG&D after taking the aforementioned exams as there is an extreme amount of stair-step overlap material.[/COLOR]

Hate to tell you this, but I found REA to be a little easier than the real thing a lot of times.
My strategy with REA was to take a practice test from the book, read the answers, then take that same test again and see if I remembered the right answers, then read any answers I missed. Do it with ALL the practice tests they give you. Very helpful.

I have not. This is going to be my first CLEP test. I'm also planning on taking DANTES Lifespan developmental psych 1 HOUR after Human Growth and Development, so I want to make sure I'm good to go.

The score you mentioned was 71%, I think that's very good if it was a first attempt. I think you should go ahead with your plans to take both exams on schedule, just look into the specific exam feedback folder to be sure there is nothing your missing. Good luck, you'll do fine.
PS In the REA books I used, there were 3 tests. I'd suggest doing all of them before you go in for the real exam.
