We've talked about how they're the same classes many times. There are some differences. There are different professors. The coursework can and has been changed between the 2 schools. They use the same learning platform - Strut Learning.

The MAOL at UMass Global won't be fast. I've been told to plan for a minimum of a year. It's rare that a student completes this degree at UMass Global in a year or less.

UMass Global is brand new. The UMass system bought Brandman basically. It was UMass's way of building an online degree program without doing the work. It is odd as the UMass individual schools already have online degrees. A degree from UMass will be viewed differently than a degree from UMass Global.

I should have known this forum of experts would have known something so simple as the similar curricula. I hadn't thought to compare the specific platforms and course lists so I felt like I'd stumbled upon the Rosetta Stone or something. This forum really is amazing.

Thank you for the info on UMass Global's program. I knew about the Brandman purchase but not the detail of the program being comparatively strenuous.  I'll do more digging around to make sure I choose the right school for me.

Thank you!

Ashkir has a thread on here somewhere about completing the MAOL from UMPI. He goes through each class he had to complete and the amount of work involved. One class had over 200 pages written. Not a fast or easy degree at all.

200 pages are crazy. Even my master thesis is not half of it.

For undergrad UMPI is fairly quick and easy for most people on this forum. Grad is a whole different thing.

What kind of degree are you looking for? Easiest doesn't mean much. Ask 5 people what degree is easy and you'll probably get 6 different answers.

Thank you, rachel83az and ss20ts. I'm looking for a US based MBA degree. I know there's a lot of them out there that have been widely discussed. But I'm not the sure if I can deal with the amount of the school work since I'm a very slow reader/ writer plus I easily get tired after a long day at work. Fast and cheap are not my primary concern in that regard.

Assuming you're in the US, I would ask other students about their experiences with the HAU MBA. (Start a new thread.) It sounds like it could potentially be a good fit for you, but I'm not 100% sure of the actual coursework.

Not at the moment. But I'm moving back in a few months. Is Amberton a good choice as well?

I have been very pleased with Amberton.  I work full-time and depending on the courses chosen, I have had a mix of 1 or 2 courses per semester.  They are traditional format with courses running 10 weeks, assignments due each week - but as I said, for me they have been very manageable working full-time.
