If I have read previous posts correctly it goes a little something like this:
Straighterline is $99/month, for as many classes as you can get through.
They, Straighterline, do not assign letter grades, however, partner schools such as Fort Hays do.
Application to Fort Hays is only $30 and transferring Straighterline credits is part of enrolling in Fort Hays.
Fort Hays will assign letter grades to Straighterline classes transferred in.
Fort Hays graded credits can be transferred to EC for only $2.00.
Classes that would transfer all the way through to EC include but are not limited to, English Comp I, which fulfills WER, and Accounting I and II which correlate to Financial and Managerial Accounting.
Please review and correct any erroneous statements I might have made. Each day I find another way to work Smarter instead of Harder thanks to this forum.

You have to sign up for the specific $99 deal
Quote:They, Straighterline, do not assign letter grades, however, partner schools such as Fort Hays do.
Correct. You may end up with a 89%, which FHSU would then correlate to their grading system. No worries, though...my son had a 71% on one of the courses that he blew through, and that still gave him a C.

Jenifer at STRAGHTERLINE is all over this process and will direct you when you have completed the courses. It took about a week to 1) enroll at FHSU, 2) have Jenifer contact FHSU with the STRAIGHTERLINE scores and 3) have the credit show up on an official FHSU transcript.

Yes, see above.

Sounds about right within a buck or two.

I know you can bank on the Accounting I&II.

Geezer, if one intends to take more than one Straighterline course, would you advise enrolling at the college after the first course and get it graded or wait till you finish all the StraighterLine courses and then transfer all at one time.
Would FHSU even do staggered course transfers? Or just a one time transfer with the $30 application?
Thanks.

I completely understand the urge to get the credit after each course, but Jenifer recommended completing the set first, then enrolling at the same time that she coordinates the validation of STRAIGHTERLINE scores with FHSU....which my son did. He had his official FHSU transcripts in just under a week and had them sent to TESC a couple of days later. The process is seamless.

Also, I believe someone mentioned that Fort Hayes was not happy with the program because they were getting too much guff from the students and faculty at the brick and mortar campus so they may not be renewing their contract in September.
I do not know if this is true or not but I would plan for it just the same. There are other schools to use, but Ft. Hayes was the one with the better name quality.

Hmmm, I was going to use FHSU cause the other partners have restrictions. Maybe best to wait for the contract to be renewed before starting with StraighterLine.

I guess I need to contact Fort Hays and Straighterline on Monday and see what the situation really is. Has anybody done 2-3 Straighterline classes in a month, is it possible?

My son knocked off (4) Acct I & II, Macro & Micro in just under 28 days. Anything is possible if you are motivated.
