Wow, that's great.
Can you tell us, were there just exams like the algebra course or were there assignments due as well as exams?
Did he purchased the books required or did he find them online?
Thanks.

This was a typical workload for all 5 courses
StraighterLine
He purchased the books for Macro/Micro used online for under $25 each. He also made extensive use of the students online companion site for the books.
Example here
Accounting in Business
The courses are not easy, but you will learn the material....you have no choice.

But were there chapter assignments due or just a series of exams?
For the algebra course there were just five exams that had to be completed, I did them in a day.
Are the other courses the same?

For Accounting I go to this link
Accounting in Business
Go to the interactive chapter quizzes I & II. That is what the graded quizzes are like. The exam's are harder.

They did not respond to my telepathic requests... I was slammed at work yesterday and was unable to make time to call. Hopefully today or tomorrow lend themselves to this endeavor. I will post whatever info I gather.

LOL! I know the feeling. BTW, here is the initial posting where the September date came from:
http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...=september
So I'm thinking that if you don't think you can finish ALL the Straighterline courses you want AND complete the credit issuance process by FHSU by the end of September, then it's probably best to wait and see what the new rules are. This only applies obviously if you're going with FHSU, which currently looks like the best deal.

I do not know if this is true or not but I would plan for it just the same. There are other schools to use, but Ft. Hayes was the one with the better name quality.
I asked Jennifer about the September renewal of Ft. Hayes and received the following email from straighterline:
At this time we do not know what will happen with our relationship with FHSU after September. However, they will still award credit to students who have enrolled in StraighterLine courses before the end of the current contract period
I need English I through Straighterline, I enrolled in Ft. Hayes and I think I'm going to go ahead and pay for English I and hope that Jennifer is right about the awarding of credit.

Is Straighterline a better option for Accounting, Economics, and Statistics courses? Why not just do IC and then the CLEP for those subjects? I'm a little afraid of all 3 subjects (Accounting, Economics, & Statistics) which are core requirements for my intended major Business Administration.
Please give me your opinions, thanks!!!

To be more accurate, thru Straighterline.com you can complete:
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Financial Accounting
Managerial Accounting
Statistics can be done via Aleks.com
There are CLEP and DSST equivalents for all these subjects with the exception of Managerial Accounting. That is why Straighterline is appealing for many. It provides a self-paced, hassle free way to knock out that particular requirement.
As to the methods used to earn the other four, your mileage may vary.
CLEP exams passed:
Management, Accounting, Marketing, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics
DSST exams passed:
Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Statistics, Management Information Systems
Earned:
B.A. in Business Administration: Technology Management from Saint Leo University
M.S. in Leadership: Business Ethics from Duquesne University
