Question about Penn Foster Accounting classes
#1
Hey guys! Quick question...hopefully! Smile Does anyone know if these classes from Penn Foster require a financial calculator?

Intermediate Accounting I
Intermediate Accounting II
Cost Accounting
Strategic Management

I'm in the process of studying for Principles of Finance DSST and I'm considering buying a financial calculator, but I don't want to spend money on something that I'm only going to use once, so I was trying to see if any of my accounting classes require/will need a financial calculator.

Also, my Adv. Accounting course from LSU doesn't require one, but it can be used and the Federal Income Taxation TECEP allows one as well, but doesn't require a financial calculator. I couldn't find any info on the Adams State University Auditing course though.

Any help/advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think I read that one of the PF accounting/finance courses includes a calculator.

Yeah, you're right. I think that's the Financial Management class. I'm planning on taking the DSST instead of that class, but I have the class as backup in case I don't pass the exam.

I'm hoping someone can comment on these other four too. Smile

I can confirm that Penn Foster's Financial Management course includes a financial calculator. The Strategic Management course I'm taking doesn't require a financial calculator, and you won't need one anyway.

Thanks OST! Glad to know Strategic Management doesn't need one. Smile

I've talked to a few people so far who seem to think that I won't use it much except for Prin. of Finance. If I can find one to borrow, I think that's what I'll do.

If anyone can definitely confirm that I won't need a financial calculator for the other 3 PF classes, that would be great!
