They will usually give permission, but they might not.
At the very least, you should have your foreign language and science credits completed if you don't already. Those, especially science, are killer classes at UMPI. You can take the Mandarin ACTFL speaking exam for easy foreign language credits.
I would contact Jessica about your foreign transcript, but they usually won't evaluate it until right before your first session begins.
@wenwenyo, 姐妹, This is correct. With a tight timeline, you're trying to "rush" things by doing the expensive, hard, long, slow way that will cost you in the long run, as it will "not fit the deadline" you wanted. By following my instructions, you'll be able to get it cheaper, easier, faster by deferring by 1 session. But most importantly, it will hit the deadline and save you from a big headache!
When I created the Beginner's Guide about 6 years ago, I had a "4 month" Bachelors degree, a few people followed those steps and were able to complete it in that time, one of the members here did it in 5 months as he started from 6 credits. Nowadays, it's even easier with Sophia.org instead of previously, StraighterLine. I am not asking you to take shortcuts or skip anything, learn as you need but cheaper, easier, faster, "with a better ROI/Value".
My way at ACE providers: Invest in a second monitor, spend $99/month on Sophia.org, you can finish 1 course in 1 day for those that don't have touchstones (writing assignments). It is probably 10x easier & faster than at UMPI. Depending on your requirements (which degree you need), you can complete as fast as 1 month of Sophia.org and 2 sessions of UMPI. Send us your academic evaluation so we know what's needed.
If you go through my way, at minimum it's $99 + $2800 and will take just 20 weeks, you have cash, energy, time left! (Treat your loved ones to a great dinner, relax, spend time with them). Your way at UMPI: Degree 120 credits - Current 51 credits = Remaining 69 credits (roughly 23 courses left). You will take 4 sessions by completing 6 courses each session (32 weeks/8 months), it'll cost $5,600 at UMPI

There have been changes to courses and how they are accepted at UMPI from these providers. They come up for periodically for a review.
Agree. TESU is a classic example of a school that once accepted courses that no longer does for a decent amount from the providers I listed. This is why I encourage everyone to create an email thread early to have a dated approval of a course to leverage if, by chance, there is a surprise change.
The safest approach remains to get them done before the term starts to avoid risk.

You're only safe if you've been enrolled. UMPI has not announced changes to their ACE acceptance in the past. The changes have just happened.

The work experience thing doesn't count for residency. Unless it's JUST a resume, it'll be faster & easier to complete Sophia or UMPI courses. Can you expand on the work credit? I have 18 years in the insurance industry, doing everything from marketing to project management. I feel like there should be credit there, but the website made the process sound extremely cumbersome and almost not worth it if you can take some of the business courses on Sophia.

Can you maybe message me with your strategies on how to finish a course in a day? How long it takes, and how you best utilize the open book philosophy?

The fast way to complete a lot of courses at Sophia is to put in a tremendous amount of time. Block large portions of your day (if possible) and get used to staying up later to knock out tasks late at night. The easiest route is to select courses with your greatest strengths and hit them up first. There is a great value in building your confidence by completing some classes quicker than expected.
If you struggle at math, don't be surprised or discouraged to be 'slow going.' If it isn't your strength, of course, it is slow. Just keep plugging away. You will catch a groove and before you know it, there will be a lot to celebrate.

It is cumbersome and not usually worth it. Some students can get a little credit simply by sending in an existing resume. If you can do that, fine. It doesn't count toward your 30 residency credits, though.
If you have to PLA, the papers to "prove" you know the stuff are longer and more detailed than what you'll have to write in class. PLA also doesn't count towards residency credit.
Being able to move through the YourPace program quickly will be an advantage of work experience, so you shouldn't feel too bad about not being able to PLA.

If you've read my posts before, I always inform people to invest in a second monitor for multi-tasking. Especially for non-proctored courses, you can have the quizzes/exams on your laptop and the materials/pdf's or e-texts on the other for searching answers. For those that require proctoring, you just need to remove the monitor and voila, you're able to exam! Mult-tasking with a more screen real estate is much easier when you can find answers quickly, you can complete required quizzes/exams so much faster when the answers are at your fingertips!

Work credits do not count towards the 30 credit residency requirements. You also have to pay a fee for them. They don't typically transfer in as a specific course but instead like BUS1XX which is a 100 level business elective type of thing.
No one in the YourPace department recommends completing PLAs as they require multiple papers, documented proof of experience, and letters from managers. They also don't count towards the 30 credit residency requirements. There's also a fee for them as well. YourPace classes are significantly faster as they are just 1 paper.
