I don't know of any that say online, but when you attend a school with global in the name such as Colorado State University - Global then everyone knows your degree was completed online. WGU doesn't have a campus so anyone doing research would see that those are only degrees.

Global is a good example of tipping your hand. Agree on WGU, however, as most with a degree have confirmed, there is little research happening with your degree. If by chance your diploma said 'Only Online, This Fool Never Saw A Campus', the only person that would see that was you and the box you put it in.
With Covid changing the game by turning most schools online in some form or another, the days of bashing or worrying about online programs is getting pushed out. Once you check the degree box and have experience, those spending 3-5X the tuition tend to just end up with regrets on the money and time for that traditional degree. Between my parents and 3 siblings, there is no school debt and most told my father that he would end up in the poor house trying to get us all through college.

Hey Rachel, i would really like to do this way, but i have a tight timeline, and will have to get my degree asap, and i have had an insane experience of doing quick learning and getting my current credits (sobbing T.T)

Thank you for being so patient, and i still have two questions:
may i know if could submit my credits later to UMPI after i enroll in the session?
and do you know when they will evaluate the credits that i earn in my college? i have submitted my translated version of transcript to then via email when i was applying for summer session, dont know if they will use the transcript directly, or maybe i should contact Jessica on that?
thank you for being so patient again!

thank you for reminding me, i have got email admission yesterday for Summer session starting from July 5!
nope i have not transferred any credits yet, i got around 36 credits from Sophia.org, would them still work if i transfer to then after the session begins?
As Rachel83AZ mentioned in the post above, we usually recommend having around 90 credits or so before you enroll at UMPI, I highly suggest you "defer enrollment" like I told another poster sara143. You should complete more Sophia.org courses (and your language/science lab courses) before you enroll at UMPI a session later!
You also want to follow this template and the last post, it will give us more details on your situation, the more info the better we can help you as each person has different variables at play for their scenario: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works
Thank you for response bj!
i have a tight timeline to get a degree, and i am thinking to finish another 5 courses before the Start Date, then totally i will have 51 before i start my courses on UMPI (i know it sounds insane but this will be my choice).
and btw, do you know if there is any course limitation when taking course in UMPI?
like on Sophia.org where i could only take up to 2 active courses at one time, and like on Study.com where i could only take 2 exam per month which means i could finish only 2 course in one month

I get that you have a tight timeline, but not transferring in more classes could result in you needing to take 4 or more sessions instead of just 1-3. Most alternate credit, at least from Sophia, is going to be faster and easier than UMPI classes. Once you start, you can NOT transfer in additional classes unless you have permission. They will usually give permission, but they might not.
At the very least, you should have your foreign language and science credits completed if you don't already. Those, especially science, are killer classes at UMPI. You can take the Mandarin ACTFL speaking exam for easy foreign language credits.
I would contact Jessica about your foreign transcript, but they usually won't evaluate it until right before your first session begins.

I will say online degrees aren't for everyone. They take a great deal of discipline and motivation. Some people really do struggle with online learning. The resources available to online students also aren't the same. We can't just walk into a writing lab or math lab and ask for help. We have to call/email, make an appointment, and wait. Then we meet over the phone or Zoom. It's definitely different.

When you apply to UMPI you send your WES evaluation and American transcripts to them. Typically you complete all of your courses before applying. If you want to take a course after you're enrolled you need permission from your academic advisor to do so.
Purdue University Global's diplomas do NOT say online on them. My spouse recently graduated from there and it's not on there. The name basically tells most people it's an online degree with the word global in the name.

Thre are several options at both Sophia, Study & UMPI to increase your output for a month.
Sophia
Once milestones are submitted and the final exam has been completed, request (in chat) to add another course. On average, I would have three courses open (strategic course selection is important); I even secured a fourth in my last week with a 'pretty please request in chat. Kindness and making any request seem casual can go a long way. I was told no to four more than yes and sometimes no to three, but those yes helped me finish all the classes needed to hit my deadline. Always worth trying, even though there are these 'rules' that claim can't be broken.
Study
Can add additional classes by spending $70 per course. The new rule is you can take five classes a month. It was once even higher. Most have gathered this new rule helps with the integrity of the program.
UMPI Forum Tips
Once you submit your final, reach out to Jessica/Advisor to add a new course. So while grading (similar to Sophia), you can launch a new course. 'Rinse / Repeat'

In YourPace you're allowed to have 2 courses open at a time. Once you submit a Final Assessment you ask your academic advisor to add another course. You can't add courses yourself. It's all done through your academic advisor.

There has been a consistent chant of having to have 90 credits before signing up. I agree - for my sister and me, we had 74 and 84 at our initial signing and ended up with 97 and 100 for the start of the term. However, we did mention early in the process the list of courses that we would be transferring in before the start or early into the program. Jessica confirmed this would not be an issue. However, I get the concern that classes can lose their approval status; there is a worry in that example and securing your credits before is the safest way to ensure they will work.
The current UMPI relationship with Study.com, Sophia & Straighterline is solid, and no signs this will change. insert: 'until it does

There have been changes to courses and how they are accepted at UMPI from these providers. They come up for periodically for a review.
