Transfer Credit report

My Digital Marketing Certificate is through a provider of University of AZ courses - partnership program, but it's a University of AZ certifcate. Greenfig - University of AZ Certified Digital Marketing  I will send it to Jessica with a note that I'd like for it to be assessed.  

Let us know if UMPI accepts the certificate. It's quite a pricy certificate. It doesn't look ACE approved so it will be interesting to see if it's accepted for any credit. Seems like every school today has some ecertificates and they aren't worth the paper they're printed on unfortunately. I've seen programs like this for $8K and I'm like wow what a way to rob from people.

Oh yes, I know what you mean!!  I've seen such pricey programs, just because of the name of the school attached to it.  

I took this class in 2022, and I paid $1595 for it then through GreenFig. I can't believe the price has escalated so much. 

My business has 2 lines of revenue:  business writing for executives/companies and digital marketing.  When I took the program I was going to go full-time into DM for my business (and drop the other revenue line which was my primary line) and felt the additional certifications/knowledge would make me even more competitive.  

This particular certificate, was a program (multiple months) and included requirements that you had to also obtain the 3 industry certifications during the program: Google Analytics IQ, HubSpot E-Mail, and Hubspot Content Marketing on top of all coursework and extensive projects, as well as attend Live Zoom Classes weekly, including a final project where you create/execute the campaign of a company they give you, including creating the personas, the writing, the ad layouts, etc.  The Instructor was an actual expert, a current Digital Marketing Company Executive with up-to-date knowledge.   

I've seen some schools evaluate and accept the Coursera/Google Certificates, and this is by far, hands down, much more difficult than the Coursera/Google marketing course, due to the extensive coverage of materials, projects and certificates required. 

When I applied to WGU, they transferred it in as a School Transcript Transfer to be evaluated (still waiting: I applied to WGU and then to UMPI.)  WGU's process has been very slow, so I'm glad I decided to pivot and started researching, and found out about UMPI.

I'll let you know if either school accepts it, as I'm in the queue for WGU, my transcripts are pending evaluation, and the EC told me he thinks my transfer evaluation will be done this week.

The FAQs for that course do say that it's a non-credit certificate, so I'm kind of doubtful that UMPI will accept it. But it doesn't cost you anything to give it a shot, so why not?

At least it sounds like it was worth it for the learning, even if you get no credits for it.

The Coursera/Google certificates are ACE approved. That's why you're seeing several schools accept them. I'm curious if WGU or UMPI accepts your certificate though. It's always interesting to see what's approved and what isn't.

@DolceDolce, We're here for you...  I'm just laughing at the situation and getting a chuckle out of it... Don't let the unknown scare you, be open to accepting what needs to be done and start working towards that goal systematically.  You're pretty close, yet so far from the finish line.  I suggest you do exactly like what ss20ts mentioned.  You need to get the Sophia.org classes done first and delay your start date at UMPI if you're starting this next session in a few weeks...  Basically, Sophia.org first to get the gen eds requirements completed, and then your final courses would be from UMPI (the major, remaining classes).  Don't rush yourself, you're going back to work, I would guess in two-three sessions you'll be complete!

ROFL!  Yes I can see the laughter in this now ... and the unknown, psyching myself out! 

Okay, how do I let UMPI know to put me in the August 23 term?  For that term, and to give them time to evaluate my incoming courses, would that provide me the opportunity to complete one Sophia course every 3 days or is that too slow a schedule?

And that's how I feel, so close and yet so far....

I would start Sophia classes TODAY. ENG101 is going to be multiple papers on Sophia and take several weeks. It's 1 paper at UMPI. So I would take this at UMPI.

MAT140 is one of the easiest math courses that there is. Take this at UMPI or you're stuck with Calculus on Sophia which it doesn't sound like you want. That's ok! Plenty of us aren't great at math. 

Take Macro and Micro Econ Sophia. Together they transfer in for ECO207 and 3 credits in general electives - well they did for me.

Yes this will put you over 90 credits and that is ok. You need to complete these GEC courses. Sophia is MUCH easier for most of them. American Government is an easy course at UMPI so it's up to you on where you take that one. You do NOT want to take ANY science or foreign language courses at UMPI. Save your sanity!

For the Sophia classes, what would be a pace that is on target to be able to transfer in to UMPI before the August 23 term?  One class every 3 days?

Also, I have a 2022 University of AZ Digital Marketing Certificate, that I'd like to have considered for the Business Marketing requirement. Do you know how I submit that to UMPI?

How long does it normally take to get your transfer credit report?

I was accepted to UMPI on June 7th (via e-mail) and my transfer credit report posted this morning, June 19th.
I had only one transfer school to send in, and I requeste that transcript through Parchment on the day I applied.
Some other UMPI applicants posted that the main facilitator of these transcripts was on vacation last week.

Hello!  Is there a way to get the UMPI classes down to needing to take only 10 at UMPI?  I've attached the current setup, recommended by all of you.  I start UMPI August 28th.  I've been able to knock out Sophia classes, 1 per day, with a 96% to 100% grade.  Maybe there's not enough Sophia courses available to trim this down.
