ProctorU Fast Track Premium Options
#1
I am scheduling 2 TECEP's, and logged into ProctorU, and saw this - I think it's new? I have at least 4 TECEP's to take, so I'm going to sign up for the Gold Plan!!!

Fast Track (Silver) - An optional fee of $10 decreases your authentication time and gets you into exams faster by replacing challenge questions with keystroke biometrics for one year. This process goes into effect after an initial Fast Track session that includes checking your ID, authentication challenge questions and keystroke profile creation. All subsequent proctoring sessions only require you to type a brief statement to authenticate your identity.

Fast Track and Take It Soon (
Gold) - An optional fee of $17.50 includes Fast Track Silver and covers Take It Soon for one year. Without Fast Track Gold, any exam scheduled within the next 72 hours will cost an additional $5 to $8.75.

Fast Track and Take It Now (
Platinum) - An optional fee of $25 includes Fast Track Silver and Gold, giving you the ultimate flexibility to schedule exams when you want without paying additional premium scheduling charges for one year.

I'm not sure I understand the difference between Gold and Platinum, but I might sign up for at least the Silver. Hopefully, there aren't any issues with the keystroke identification technology.

I think Gold let's you take it within 24 hours ("take it soon"), and Platinum ("take it now") let's you take it immediately without delay.

Wait, not 24 hours, 72 hours.

Is that worth it? I've never used ProctorU, just Examity, but with Examity, I never had a problem scheduling within 72 hours. Seems unnecessary. "Schedule it Now" might be nice, though.

With ProctorU, you have to pay a fee to schedule within 72 hours.

The thing that really makes a difference on that is if you had previously scheduled a TECEP, can't take it on the day you want so you need to reschedule, and the term is over within 72 hours. At that point, you pay to reschedule. THAT'S when it would come in very handy.

Schedule it now is good too, especially if I came up with a block of time when I had no husband and no kids around and could just take a test right then and there. But who am I kidding, when does this ever happen?? Haha.

That's really not a bad deal. The Take it Now really speaks to me as a procrastinator who's also super impulsive.

I lied - I went ahead and "splurged" on the Platinum Plan! I had to schedule a "UCard Creation" time for tomorrow morning, they are going to do all the time-consuming stuff that normally happens at the beginning of each session (with verification), it takes like 15 minutes (sometimes more) and is a pain. No more running to get my ID before an exam, or any of the other little things that makes it take longer than necessary!

I will let you all know how that goes, plus my first exam to see if it speeds things up. And if it's worth the money (I'm going to wait to schedule my next 3 exams, all in the February term, for last-minute, just for the heck of it).

I loved the take it now option, I took 22 exams with ProctorU and always paid the extra money. It added a couple of hundred bucks to my degree plan but I really liked being able to see how I was feeling the day of and then just go for it.
