iJUST ORDERED MINE THROUGH AMAZON JUST A FEW HOURS AGO. iF SOMEONE NEEDS A CIVIL WAR STUDY BOOK AFTER NEXT WEEK..LET ME KNOW. i DON'T EXPECT TO BE READING IT AS BEDTIME READING AFTER THIS WEEK. WE SHOULD SET UP A BOOK EXCHANGE AS IT SEEMS MANY OF US OUR ON THE SAME COURSE PATH AND ONCE WE ARE DONE WITH THE BOOK I DON'T SEE IT BEING ADDED TO OUR LIBRARY STOCK AT HOME....FOOD FOR THOUGHT STEVE!!

There is an online practice test from SparkNotes that is exactly the same as the book version. http://www.sparknotes.com then follow the links to the civil war guide. You'll find concise information there, too - kinda like the flashcards. I bought the civil war book and compared it to the site, and it's all the same info.
I agree, I'm all for a book exchange! Wonder if we can get Steve to set up another forum for it...

I ordered the rudman civil war text..cost $47.00 what with rush shipping and all. so, when you see an expense like that for a one or two week prep..wowo, you can't help but, think of some sort of an exchange program that would enhance this site. Just a thought!

Trajan, what made it harder than expected? It seems to me that Instacert focuses on smaller battles, Sparknotes on larger battles and broader overviews. Did you have questions about the smaller battles?
