Iâve seen this lonely topic sitting here for quite a while, so I thought Iâd jump in and say it IS possible to receive a perfect score on a CLEP exam. I received an 80 on the American Literature CLEP this past March.
Iâd like to start by saying itâs been a life-long goal of mine to study literature, so I took this opportunity to gain knowledge in a subject I really wanted to master. As Iâm a slow, methodical student, I studied for 3 1/2 months and used a variety of sources - online study guides, literature and poetry textbooks, Internet interviews with authors, movies, etc., and of course the always helpful IC Specific Feedback. Going into the test, I was hoping for a good score â but never expected reach the âtop of the mountain"! Luckily, my version of the test played to all my strengths, and downplayed my weakness â analyzing (Ughhh). My thoughts: the upside is I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge, had enough confidence to move on to take both A & I and English Lit, and am now pretty good at correctly answering any and all literature questions on Jeopardy. The downside? When you reach the top of the mountain there's only one way to go....down. I've done well on subsequent CLEPs, but never again came close to the magic 80!
