Please Review my TESU Associates (ASBA) Plan
#1
I know many people skip getting an Associates Degree from TESU and go straight to a Bachelors. This is a personal goal more than a career oriented goal.
I need to set an attainable goal for myself and getting the ASBA from TESU is my goal now.

I do care about saving money but that is not my primary goal with this degree plan. If you see an exam/class that you feel is an easier alternative in your opinion than what I
listed then please feel free to share. I would also like to hear back to see if I a missing opportunities to plug in TEEX, NFA or ALEKS credits (aside from Stats).

Thanks for reviewing my plan!

You don't need an extra credit for Ethics. You just have to make it up by having 1 more elective credit.

Study.com is very well liked. Some of the Saylor exams are kind of hard, and for many of them you could do Study.com. Many of us get 6 free classes (18 credits) by applying for their scholarship.

Thanks for the reply, I honestly don't care about their free scholarship but the fact that you said it is well liked and that some Saylor exams are harder has my attention. I'm going to take a closer look at Study.com right now.

Study.com is fairly similar to SL. There are differences, but it's reasonably similar.

Saylor (and Davar) is almost similar to taking a CLEP/DSST. Because they do have course material, but most people end up having to study on their own, then take the exam. With Saylor credit depends on the one exam. Some people really like that it's just 1 exam and that's it. Going through the course material is optional.

This is the type of feedback than I am looking for, thanks Ideas. I am going to rebuild my plan with Study.com replacing many (maybe all) Saylor courses.

You can probably get rid of that last Saylor if you want to.

I think you can put ALEKS Intermediate Algebra for an elective, or two or three TEEX. Two of TEEX are kind of hard for people who don't enjoy technical stuff.

You can avoid the cornerstone completely by being a Study.com affiliate. The cornerstone takes like 1-2 hours and is kind of waste of money. There are easier ways like ALEKS.

Could Humanities 101: Intro to the Humanities at Study.com replace that Saylor Political Science 101?

I don't think so, but you could probably do any of these:

Straighterline Introduction to Criminal Justice
Straighterline Introduction to Psychology
Straighterline Introduction to Sociology

There would be other options too, but those are easier courses.

Edit: Well, not if you have Sociology in the other category, but you can replace that.

Before giving a recommendation, I have a few quick questions, are you wanting speed or ease of completion?
Do you have a preference of one or the other (SL vs Study.com)? Cheap/Easy/Fast or just "high school" easy?

My suggestion actually is, since it's a goal and it will take some time for this to be completed to do the following.
1) Take the FREE courses at the bottom of my signature - this is for free elective credits
2) For general education electives, take ALEKS Intermediate Algebra and Precalculus OR Trigonometry

I checked the amount of work for some of the courses, it depends on the course, but here's my recommendations below.

Associate in Science in Business Administration (ASBA) @ TESU.

{Intellectual and Practical Skills}
ENC-101 WRITTEN COMM - English Composition I 3(SL) or Change to Study.com - 3 written assignments vs 9 @SL
ENC-102 WRITTEN COMM - English Composition II 3(SL) or Change to Study.com - 3 written assignments vs 8 @SL
COM-209 ORAL COMM - Oral Communication/Public Speaking 3 (SL) or Study.com - both has 3 videos/speeches
SOC-101 DIVERSITY - Sociology 3(SL) - Or take Cultural Anthropology

{Electives} 3 Credits Needed Here.
ALEKS Intermediate Algebra - Take this before you take College Algebra, then take Precalculus OR Trigonometry.

For myself and many of the forum members, I chose to do the bulk of my coursework at Straighterline first.
And for the remainder of my classes that I couldn't get at Straighterline, I finish it off with Study.com
Get a spreadsheet up and running, or copy the one on the thread below or wiki - add a sheet for your ASBA
