The Barb that I dealt with is this person: https://www.umpi.edu/campus-directory/barbara-lambert/ She appears to be UMPI staff.
I agree that the pushy marketing people need to go. I also agree that the actual UMPI staff is completely overwhelmed. I don't think they have any malice toward prospective students. I think they're just drowning in applications to process in a short amount of time. When applications fall through the cracks, they just tell the student it's too late, and most probably don't question it. I find it curious that the student that applied two-months before the deadline (cerich67's wife), and myself (who applied nearly one-month before the deadline) are the ones that fell through the cracks. I wonder if the newer applications that came in after my app just buried mine in the pending queue. It makes sense. As new applications come in, the older ones get placed at the bottom of the electronic queue.
I don't know. At this point I could speculate endlessly about what may have gone wrong.
There seems to be some positive response from the Chancellor, so I hope it all gets resolved. Thanks again everyone.
They had all summer to process my application for fall but it never got past the completed status despite me telling them I was still waiting for my transcript (which their system show was recieved) to be evaluated and to find out if I was accepted to the program.
I can't log in to the MaineStreet account now to check on anything so I assume they've inactivated it. I wish they would have communicated with me, even if only a quick email.
I'm sorry to hear you're in this position now, especially after speaking to them and thinking everything was in order. Like the others I don't see how it could hurt them to let you get started with a course you know you need and then catch up on your application.
