Pierpont Issues

Good afternoon.  Before I go in to my current issue with Pierpont, I'd like to thank all of the contributors here on this forum.  Without this forum and the messages posted, I would have never had the motivation to continue my collegiate education.

Okay, the reason I'm posting today, is because I am having issues with how Pierpont has allocated my credits.

I sent in all of my transcripts back in June.  The transcripts sent in were as follows:

Art History I - 3
Art History II - 3
Business Law - 3
Conflict Resolution - 3
Developing Effective Teams - 1
Environmental Science - 3
Human Biology - 3
Introduction to Business - 3
Introduction to Chemistry - 3
Introduction to Ethics - 3
Introduction to Information Technology - 3
Introduction to Nutrition - 3
Introduction to Statistics - 3
Introduction to Web Development - 3
Macroeconomics - 3
Microeconomics - 3 
Principles of Finance - 3
Project Management - 3
Visual Communications - 3
Workplace Communication - 3

CLEP

US History I - 3
US History II - 3
American Government - 3

TEL Learning

1 graded credit transcribed through Mid American Christian University 
3.0 GPA

My ROAR account states that I am deficient 12 credits in the required areas. It states that I need the following:

3 credits in Communications
3 credits in Computer Literacy 
6 credit in Math/Sciences
 
They allocated 3 credits for Macroeconomics to satisfy the Social Science requirement.

The remaining 45 free elective credits were satisfied using the credits from the list above.

What am I missing?  Doesn't Intro Statistics meet the math requirement?  Doesn't one of any of the 4 science classes meet the Science requirement?  Doesn't Introduction to Information Technology meet the Computer Literacy requirement?  Doesn't Visual Communications or Workplace Communication fulfill the Communications requirement? I'm truly baffled....

Any opinions here would be most appreciated.

You're fine, you have everything you need and then some - they probably just don't have all your credits evaluated yet. I would wait a few days, and then contact them to see what's wrong if it doesn't get updated.

I agree, it's just a little unnerving. I have reached out several times for a response, but have yet to hear back.  I'm just going to move forward to UMPI and not worry about it at this time.  I'm sure it will work itself out too.  Thank You!

ROAR was wrong for me a while too, but Nancy and the registrar got it worked out. These things take time, colleges operate much slower than what we are used to in 2023.

Yes, Roar does seem to have some quirks. I reached out to Nancy Parks yesterday. I'm confident it will resolve itself.  Thank Again!

Don't trust ROAR. Trust Nancy Parks. The main thing you can do in ROAR is to confirm whether or not all your transcripts have been received and inputted yet. Everything else is dubious for BOG AAS students.

Yes, it's a waiting game, Pierpont updates you when/if there are issues, and at the time being, as you mentioned, continue working on courses you need for your transition to UMPI. Depending on your degree, all the credits you have taken for the Pierpont degree should transfer to UMPI seamlessly (such as the BAS or BLS as they have 60 credits for free electives).

Thank you for responding.  With all of the thoughtful responses I've received today, I'm much more at peace with just allowing the bureaucracy of administration take its course and move forward with the my Bachelors studies.  Thanks again!

Congratulations on your achievement!

Also, be prepared. UMPI can make you wait just as long, if not longer. The wait for transfers to be evaluated can be two months or more, and the wait for conferral can be just as long, with no possibility for updates.
