I just took a chemistry practice test from the REA chemistry CLEP book, and I got 68/75 which equals a 74. I know REA tests are typically harder than real CLEP exams, but I feel in the case of chemistry it is significantly easier than the real exam.
For instance, there was only one question in the entire exam where I was required to use an equation (it was PV=nRT). There were some where they asked if you increase a certain variable in an equation, what happens to the others(which is basically Le Chatelierâs principle), but there was not a single question that required the use of cell voltage, equilibrium, enthalpy, boiling point elevation, etc., etc. You name it; it wasn't in the practice exam. My problem with this is that the REA book gives you about 30 equations to remember, and I want to know if the real CLEP is this easy, or if on the actual exam, you will need to actually plug tings into equations and get concrete numbers for your answers. I am confident that I do no know chemistry very well, so I just want to know, if anyone has taken the actual CLEP chemistry, if the questions are this easy, or do you actually have to plug numbers into equations on the CLEP exam??? THANKS!!
