So I've been studying for the CLEP and DSST Business Law exams and I just now went to take the free peterson's practice tests and the whole system has changed and as far as I can tell, they are no longer free. I went there my usual route ( Free Practice Clep Tests! - Free-Clep-Prep.com) but the whole thompson/peterson thing has changed. So, does anyone around here know if there's a way to take those tests anymore (without paying)? Man, they were such an invaluable resource (fortunately I'll be done after this with all my cleps).
And second, if not, is 70% a good enough score on the official clep practice test that I can be confident in passing? Or should I sign up for IC and go through the FC in the next three days?

in the middle of the page click on
"college and career"
then
"testing and educational resources"
then
"college prep tools" (@ the top)
then on CLEP
(for DSST tests, click on DSST)

Yes, and everything is normal until I click on "continue" (after I log in and it says "welcome", etc.). Then it logs me into this Thomson thing and I can't seem take the test!

I just tried it and it worked for me. I did everything already mentioned and when I clicked on "Continue" it was fine. I've noticed that there are sometimes problems with Petersons. I just recently had a problem and couldn't even get into the site! :ack: I would wait and see if it clears up or maybe try it on another computer. If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else will have some more ideas! I hope this works out! I know how frustrating it is when they don't work! :o

Hmm... That is strange. Maybe they're tracking me and know that I've taken a whole bunch of those tests and now they won't let me. lol.

It's a java problem, it seems, or the browser's ability to load the java. I'm no expert, but I've found that running it in Internet Explorer seems to run the site correctly most often. I've used Chrome and Firefox too, but I seem to have the problem of the strange Thomson's site loading or getting some HTTP Status 500 error about 35% of the time. This might be a further problem on my part somewhere, maybe I'm lacking an update, I don't know.

I use a Mac. Safari won't work, so I have to use Firefox.

I just tried it on another computer (laptop) and it worked this time! I wonder why it wasn't working on my iMac? Hmm... I'll have to see if it works there now too.
By the way, why does Indiana Library now require a card number to access the practice tests? That's the way I always use to do it, but it no longer works. ...Maybe it's just my bad luck!
Anyway, thanks guys for your help! I'm soo excited that I can use Petersons practice tests for my last CLEP!!! Yay.
