Peterson's Practice Tests
#1
What is considered a good score on Peterson's? I'm taking the Prin of Supervision DSST tomorrow morning. I've scored a 68 and 61 on the Peterson's. Is this good?

I think that is a good score. Peterson's seem to be harder than the actual tests. If I'm passing a Peterson's I usually consider myself ready to test. I can't comment on this particular test though as I haven't taken it.

Clep 3705 or Knight Champion,

How difficult was the US History I CLEP? I am planning on taking it in 5 weeks. I have read the Official CLEP Study Guide and Cracking the CLEP by Princeton Review. I am in the middle of REA's guide (it also came with software for 3 practice tests). I also have the No Bull Review of US History on my Kindle, but I am only a few pages in. I purchased a set of 600 study cards from SparkNotes and just today I purchased one month to this site for IC. I was also planning on using Peterson's. My goal is to get through all of this material and score well. However, I am nervous as I have not had any history course since high school. I am actually in a graduate program and need to pick up 6 credits in History. My undergraduate degrees did not require history courses for some odd reason. I opted for US I and US II. I figured I'd work on one at a time. Any information you can provide me regarding the US History I CLEP is greatly appreciated. I HAVE to pass on the first attempt or pay over a grand for an eight week course. Thanks!

You have gone overboard. All you need is the REA study guide. Read it, take a practice test, review what you missed using Wikipedia to fill in the gaps, take a practice test, etc. until you've take all practice tests. You are trying to achieve C level knowledge of history. Also keep in mind that a multiple choice test make things a little easier.

Don't score any better than a pass or whatever the minimum is for whatever school you are in or will apply to. Scoring more than you need means that you wasted time that could have been better spent studying for another test. When you think you are ready, take the Peterson's test. You'll need to search and figure out from others how to determine if your Peterson's scores are good.
