I passed the exam last year with a 69. I used the "The Wall Street Journal Complete Personal Finance Guidebook." Author is Jeff D. Opdyke. The exam was not too difficult if you already have some business knowledge. There were a few time value of money problems, so you want to know that. An example would be, if you deposited $1000 for 5 years at 6% interest, how much would the deposit have grown to? You will have questions about mortgages, such as: you bought a $200,000 home and paid 2 points. You put 20% down and financed $160,000. How much did you pay in points?
If you go to DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com you can download a fact sheet on the exam and it includes a 10 or so question practice exam. It will give you a feel for the actual exam.

Just so we're clear....the answer to your question would be $3,200 in points, right?
