This sucks. I thought that they were moving to get all classes ace approved. They were making all types of announcements before the ace review and now they are saying nothing.

It takes time. It's not like an over night thing. I called and spoke with some one at PF, and he told me it's a lengthy review. Not only that.. he told me they re newed the ACE for the previous classes that were under ACE. He did tell me near the end of summer it should all be done. (The remaining non-ACE courses) We'll just have to wait and see. =X

Okay. Thanks. I need to calm myself down. Its just that they have so many other courses that would be cheaper for me to use. I am hoping though that once they get approved for everything that they don't decide to go up on the price. I have a feeling that they will though.

Haha trust me, I am as nervous as you are. I just want them to release the courses, it'll be a release of stress. Upper level credit for cheap!! Ughhhh! =]

All of the a la carte courses, however, are lower level.

I am fine with this i just need them to meet my degree requirements. Its still not a bad deal for the price. It is cheaper than most community colleges.

This statement may be true for Penn Foster student but not true for TESC. I can speak to Financial Management which transcribes as UL FIN301 at TESC. The same would most likely hold true for Principles of Management although the CLEP exam is so simple most would probably not use PF for this course.

TESC:
AAS, Admin Studies. 2010
BA, Social Sciences. 2010. Arnold Fletcher Award.
AAS, Environmental, Safety & Security Technologies. 2011
BSBA, General Management. 2011. Arnold Fletcher Award. Sigma Beta Delta (ΣΒΔWink!

Ok, so if I took the C# class at Penn Foster as part of my degree plan, that would be 3 ACE credits as far as TESC is concerned, right? It wouldn't be community college credit even though Penn Foster claims to be a community college. Am I right about that? I need to make sure since I can't do anymore CC credits.

Okay you may be pissed about this one but this course was only available for ACE credit up until 2/28/2011 and I do not see another course in the national guide that replaced it. I do not think that you will be able to transfer the credit over to tesc at all. Even though Penn Foster has national and ace approval it doesnt mean that it will transfer over to a regionally accredited community college. See Below:

Visual C# (CSC 246)
(Formerly: Visual C++)
Credit Type: Course
ACE Course Number: 0165
Organization: Penn Foster College
Location: Self-study.
Length: Correspondence program.
Dates Offered: 4/1/1999 - 2/28/2011
Objective: To provide the student with the fundamental knowledge to develop computer programs using the Visual C++ programming language.
Learning Outcome: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to describe the structure of a Visual C++ program; design and code programs in Visual C++; work with graphics and multimedia; and learn how to distribute programs created in Visual C++.
Instruction: Major topics covered in the course are building C++ applications, input devices, using timers, dialog boxes and menus, adding graphics, active X controls, document interfacing, toolbars, status bars, ADO applications, DLL, and multitasking. Methods of instruction include self-study texts, use of computer software, graded student exercises, and a proctored final examination.
Credit Recommendation: In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in Computer Science or Information Technology (12/00).

No, I'm not too happy about it, but I'm glad you pointed it out to me. I'm new to ACE stuff so I don't know how everything works yet. I think I may just end up dropping one area of study so I don't have to try and scrounge up a lot of extra credits.
