Penn Foster Classes
#1
Has anyone taken any Penn Foster classes (besides ENG 121)? I'm waiting for confirmation from TESC that PF ENG 121 will fulfill the managerial communications requirement but in looking at the PF catalog I notice they have a business stats class, a managerial accounting and microeconomics. Has anyone taken these? Any thoughts or feedback? Thanks!

I have taken several PF classes and had them transferred to TESC. You will never go wrong with a PF class as long as it is ACE approved. Best bang for your buck you will find. I have 7 credits left thinking about 1 or 2 CLEPs and a PF class or two.

Does PF have any upper level Marketing or Management classes that TESC accepts? I'm signed up for ENG121 (which they said would fulfill the Managerial Communications requirement), but an upper level class would eliminate one of the local classes I was going to take.

Thanks!

MUCH to my surprise, my son had it confirmed in writing that the ACE approved Penn Foster Principles of Management and/or Principles of Marketing courses would meet the TESC BSBA requirements. If I were you, I would still get it in writing.

I have taken Financial Accounting from Penn Foster. But I re-took it from Straighterline and got it transcripted via Ft Hays. Since I want a degree from Excelsior I re-took it for a letter grade. I also took Managerial Accounting and Statistics from Straighterline and transferred to Penn Foster for my associates in business.

My strategy was studying with the sample tests on the books website and I also got the study guide of the book (used from Amazon). When I felt I had mastered the material I took the exams, that way I only spent $99 x class and got A's in both classes.

And I can tell you the proctored final of PFC for Financial Accounting is not difficult but you only have one hour to complete it so it is far from being an easy A.

Either way for Straighterline and PFC you need to study they are not easy classes.

A couple days ago, I just read a thread wherein a post claimed Excelsior gives letter grades for PFC classes.

It gives letter grades but only up to 30 DETC credits.

So, Excelsior does accept and award credit for Penn Foster classes? I thought since Penn Foster is not RA, EC won't budge...

Please clarify. Thanks.
