Originally I chose WGU, however i'm in a bit of a bind with my undergrad conferral timeline. WGU stated that because my undergraduate degree won't be conferred until 31 May, I could not start course until 1 Aug. Patten told me that an unofficial transcript and a signed letter of completion would suffice until I "graduated".

Has anyone tried the same with WGU? I want to start mine ASAP but if I have to wait until I am conferred then that would waste 3 months. I would appreciate current WGU MBA students experience.

I think I remember someone else here saying WGU wouldn't allow that, but I wasn't able to track down the thread

I can confirm that WGU will not allow you to start until degree is conferred, Patten allowed an immediate start as long as you could provide unofficial transcripts in the mean time.

For me, if I do finish by the end of the year, I'll also have 2-3 months of free time. I'll be using those to get some Business/IT certifications.
I'm not sure what everyone would like to do, but for myself, I'd like to learn more during the down time, and those certs will help me.

I attended Patten University for one semester and also Amberton University for one semester. The level of education I received from Patten was okay but I felt like I wasn't challenged and the first course was easy without much studying, I passed with an A. Amberton University was much better but they refused for me to take more than four courses per semester. So I left Amberton.
I honestly did not like either school. The prices are good for an MBA.
I am actually interested in WGU MBA's program and the format that you can excel at your own pace without any restraints from management, etc.
Certification (ACA) University of Central Florida
B.A. (Social Sciences) Thomas Edison State University

Wow. Sounds like Patten really sucks. I keep hearing really bad things, and the main one is that the material and exams don't match. That's a bummer.
I really want to pursue an MBA and Patten was a consideration, but after all of this I think I'm going to look elsewhere. I just need a program that charges monthly like Patten does, and not having those webcam proctor exams would be nice as well.

Consider WGU. $3,250/6 months, and I've only really seen positive things about it.
You'll still have proctored exams. It'll be hard to avoid those.

I don't mind them being proctored, I just don't care for the webcam version. One school I graduated from allowed us to set proctoring up with a testing center or local University. Another school I graduated from didn't have proctoring at all.
I took a course for fun once and did the webcam proctoring. Lots of issues, some technical and some extreme paranoia on the part of the proctor. Very bad experience.

i'd much prefer online proctoring over in-person, but that's just personal preference. I know WGU uses online proctoring (i think examity, possibly proctoru), but I don't know if you can opt for in-person instead.
