Thanks for the words of confidence.
I scored a 59. That's an A at Excelsior.
I used instantcert flashcards for about 95% of my studying; and I went to the exam specific feedback area to find specific things to look up in wikipedia.
To tell you the truth, I think that the MIS exam must have been developed from different study materials than the instantcert flashcards. The terms were somewhat different. However, they were similar enough that I was able to make the connection. ie: Expert Systems = Knowledge Support Systems
If you are studying for the DSST MIS exam. Instantcert flashcards should be enough to get you an A. I did not even have time to run through the CLEP Info Systems / Computer Apps flashcards.
There were no questions on my Computer-based DSST exam referring to Immanuel Kant or Descartes or their ethical views.
It is not in Instantcert flashcards, but you need to know types of data (text, integers, etc... ) What type would your Social Security number be?
Also, know a think or two about Steven Jobs and that Neuman character Snazzlefrag referred to in the exam specific feedback.
Know the differences between firmware, shareware, freeware, etc. Are you ethically supposed to pay for one type?
Know virus types, ie worms, trojans...
Understand that anything referring to strategy refers to executives; admin = office... those types of correlations are important to know throughout all levels.
Good luck... If you know your flashcards, you'll do fine.
