The good news is the TECEP is "open book". You get to bring your tax book in with you and use it during the exam. I've also heard this one wasn't too terribly hard. If you've prepared your own tax returns (hopefully with deductions and several different additions to your 1040), and understand that, then you should be ok.

I work for NYS Department of Tax and Finance and I'm currently taking a LL course in Federal Income Tax. I am most likely going to take TECEP for this. My suggestion is more geared towards others seeking it another way. Maybe that is the issue with doing it on Study.com as I don't know how they would allow an open book final when for a topic like this one you need to have open book. It's nearly impossible to memorize everything with taxes. Besides I get full reimbursement for TECEPs so why not.
Also : Federal Income Tax changes every year I doubt SL or Study.com want to update the course every single year so it most likely wont happen.

And Critical Thinking/Informal Logic. There are ridiculously few options for this, given its common place in the general ed lineup.

Propero has it for $299, and there's a Critical Reasoning TECEP as well.
