KingdomUnshaken12:28 Wrote:Hello everybody,

I just wanted to let you all know that I passed my Natural Sciences CLEP with a 60!!!!!!! Since I was really running short on time, my studying primarily consisted of reading and taking notes on Biology Essentials for Dummies, and I scored 68% on the official CLEP practice test a day or two before I took the test. Thank you so much for all of your advice and support - I really appreciated it!!

EDIT: I was taking notes on paper, since that helps me to remember more than typing, otherwise I would share them with you all. Unfortunately, I don't really have time to type up 15 pages of notes, but they were basically a summery of the book, which I would highly recommend as a valuable resource - the Essentials version contains just what you actually need for the test, and is short enough (165 pages) that you can read through the whole thing.

ironheadjack Wrote:Was the test harder or easier then you expected? I considered taking this test a few months ago, but I backed away because it seemed like an overload of information.

It really wasn't too bad - I am fairly familiar with basic physics, and because of the time frame, I mostly just studied biology. If I'd had time, I would have worked on chemistry and reviewed some physics and and geology, but overall I was pretty comfortable with the test. Biology is generally recommended as a prerequisite to Natural Sciences, but I was talking to someone who took the Biology CLEP after my science one and Biology was definitely more in depth. Natural Sciences is broad, but also fairly shallow, and if you get a good handle on basic biology and are familiar with the other sciences, it is very doable.

Tests passed:
CLEP Introductory Psychology: 70
CLEP College Composition: 62
DSST Principles of Public Speaking: 73
CLEP College Mathematics: 69
CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature: 78

DSST Environment and Humanity: 61
DSST Ethics in America: 467

Goal: AA from Charter Oak by December 2013
