On the UMPI Website for BABA PM&IT, the "PCJ 215" seems to have changed to "COM 210: Organizational Communication". I'm not seeing anything in the Transfer Equivalency DB for "COM 210". I did find this obscure page on the UMPI Website that mentions "Both Organizational Communication (BUS/COM 210) and Business Communication (PCJ 215) courses have been mapped to..." Given they list "BUS/COM 210" together perhaps they consider them equivalent? Hmm.
Yes, the course changed beginning Fall 1 I believe. I wonder if they changed both courses to be the same course and renamed/renumbered it to help avoid confusion.
I'm still trying to get to the bottom of the PCJ 215 / COM 210 / BUS 210 mystery.
Looks like they (BUS & COM 210) are the same course. Since BUS 210 maps into
Sophia 0034, presumably COM 210 does as well.
I found this in the
UMPI Course Catalogue:
BUS 210 - Organizational Communication
This course is crosslisted as COM 210

Basically, at this point in time, I would complete the remainder of the requirements, email your advisor and make sure they provide the details in the academic notes which course you're going to take and that it does hit or meet the spot. I would focus on the other remaining credits until you get a follow up feedback from that advisor. In other words, complete the other stuff for now while waiting...

The BUS Comm from Sophia does not cover the PCJ class, but the UMPI COM 210 covers it instead! I learned this the hard way not long ago thinking that the Sophia Class would cover it but clearly it doesn't anymore. I hope this helps! Com 210 is super quick and easy—not hard at all.

I'm going through PCJ 215 on UMPI and am completing the final right now, it was quite a bit of work but not impossible. You need to create a video presentation about a charity or other options etc and then write a 5 page paper about the experience. Was a bit overwhelmed at first, but once I dove in it's basically playing pretend and fantasizing about what you would do to raise money for an organization.
Completed:
UMPI: BA Criminal Justice
Pierpont: AAS BOG w/ Emphasis in Information Systems
Sophia: 24 Courses - The CSM Course - ASU: CIS 194 Business Technology Fundamentals
Coursera: Google IT, Google Data Analytics, Google Digital Marketing, IBM Cybersecurity Analyst

I may be misunderstanding your post, but my understanding is that UMPI COM 210 has replaced PCJ 215 so technically, it doesn't really cover it. I've read on Discord and Reddit that Sophia BUS 210 covers UMPI COM 210 but I've also read that it doesn't. Awaiting clarification from Jessica.

She sent me this a few days ago. I was having issues getting it to give me credit. 210 hasn't replaced PCJ, from my understanding.
It's just an alternative to it?

Hello, I’m doing some degree planning and I stumbled on some information that I’d like fact-checked. A Reddit post about Sophia’s Bus Comms class suggests that UMPI does not accept it as equivalent to PCJ215. UMPI’s database still shows that it’s equivalent but I just want to be sure. Could anyone speak on this and help me out?

I had my transfer credit eval completed last week, Business Communications on Sophia covered PCJ 215...I saw the same stuff saying it didn't so while I was waiting for my credit eval, I took workplace communications to hedge just in case. Business Communications transfered to cover it without any manual adjustment, so I just have an extra elective credit whenever the next time I submit any additional credly transfer credits for review

Thank you for the update. I am hoping that remains the same while I complete my transfer credits before applying to UMPI.
Thanks!!

The difference in transfer credit could be which degree people are completing.
