I recall there being at least one course that had a group project. I'm currently unable to reach the family member who just completed the degree to find out which class (but in this case that probably isn't relevant anyway - as it does have at least one group project course).

Thanks for the feedback- will leave this one out.

All Ambteron MBA's have a Capstone course. It's not called Capstone though. For all but 1 MBA it's Strategic Management.

I'm aware that they do have a required course to complete 'Strategic Management' (with prerequisites that would leave it near/at the end), and as you stated they don't call it a capstone (excluding the Entrepreneurship AOS, which is clearly labeled Capstone); I believe that is because some of the term syllabi offer options that would not be a capstone by definition. Alas, you and I both know firsthand that one of the best things about Amberton is that they offer a few different options for most (not all) subjects, one term could offer the writing intensive version and the next term same course is exam heavy (for example).

Sounds good- never heard of them. Guess I can start with them and see if any other responses yield other leads. Appreciated.

I'll add that you shouldn't rule out a program just because it has a capstone. A capstone is much different than a thesis requirement; which I suspect is your true interest in avoiding (and I personally understand the desire to avoid one). See link for some general information of the differences - https://classroom.synonym.com/difference...40832.html

Hmmm, maybe I misunderstood the idea? Yes, I decided that something akin to a thesis is something I definitely do not want.  I guess some sort of project is unavoidable unless the school is totally shady?  I appreciate the clarifications.

Most online capstone 'projects' are a significant paper (as described in the link), although most commonly they are broken down into smaller ones that come together in the end as one long final version.

Thank you. I'm checking the posts on this site and was wondering if any of the "veterans" here can point to schools that may be an easier lift than others?  My preference is 24 months or less, asynchronous preferable and not too many hoops to jump.  I do want to learn and I'm not looking for a mill, but I am sure that I will have a harder time than the average (much younger) student.  If I were younger, I would have far less restrictions, but I recognize my reality and want to accommodate myself.  Thank you.

Great link- I will have to look through them and figure out which may be a better match (timing, "ease".)  I guess the easiest way to learn about capstones and more individual work, instead of group is to email the schools and ask.  Also, need to see which ones are actually doable in the time period for a person who still works, I hear sometimes that taking two courses per period/semester is tough for full-time workers.  I do very little overtime at work so that may help.

Yeah, that's the same link I sent in post #7... Like JoshD (ThatBankDude) I also mentioned to look at the AACSB options first, and ACBSP next as there are several public or state institutions that have ACBSP. It really depends on you (and what you look for in a degree program), how you look at those institutions and options that they provide. I would do a review of them and maybe create a spreadsheet comparing them in various areas... Good luck, have fun, continue on with the journey...

Your best bet is to review this thread and also check/search the grad sub forum for anything that interests you, I would look up the AACSB first and ACSBP options afterwards...  https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...der-1-Year

This is helpful.  I never heard of ACSBP so I didn't know there was anything other than AACSB.  I worry that being on the older spectrum, having a full time job and not being in school for a very long time is something I want to address up front.  No need for a top-tier school, don't need to network, and not looking for a ton of interaction with others.  I was considering a certificate course but it seems like online MBA would fit better.  Since my employer is willing to pay since I brought it up, I don't want to dive in and get overwhelmed.

Oops, I just noticed that typo of mine, it's supposed to be ACBSP... I typed it properly on a subsequent post #18... Anyways, AACSB is more recognized as it's geared towards research or teaching, ACBSP is more practical and the level of accreditation differs too... AACSB is bachelor's and up, ACBSP actually has covered the Associates as well... I've never really had anyone post they needed the third type of accreditation IACBE ever... Most I've seen are jobs for community college or private colleges asking for at least ACBSP or AACSB, never seen anything requiring IACBE.

Note: Since your employer is going to pay for the bulk if not all, you should really decide on those slightly higher ranked and more reputable ones that cost about the max price of $15-20K that you mentioned. Within the list we have in the linked thread, there are a bunch, your requirements are mainly met, just that I'm not sure if they all have team projects or not, etc... I haven't checked each and every one of them thoroughly enough to answer specifically which ones would have no peer projects with cohorts...
